University of Queensland
About
The Master of Development Practice provides interdisciplinary training in:
the politics and histories of development;
gendered dimensions of development;
sustainability and climate change;
Indigenous studies;
as well as research techniques.
Our unique perspective on Queensland specific issues, alongside those of our Pacific Island neighbours, is contextualised in national and international development settings.
Equipped with new skills across community development, urban and regional planning, global political analysis and impact assessment, graduates establish diverse development-related careers across the public, private and community sector.
Designed and taught by nationally and internationally recognised scholars and practitioners, and offering inspiring and informative teaching approaches, this program is suitable for recent graduates and professional alike.
Whilst equipping students with analytical and technical skills for a career in development, teaching staff also provide a supportive learning environment for students to engage in reflective practice to navigate ethical, social and other critical dimensions associated with a career in development.
