This qualification provides economics training in core economics principles and concepts and is beneficial to non-economics graduates.

Students gain an understanding of basic economic concepts in microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics and mathematical techniques opening the way for graduates to undertake further study if they desire.

Obtaining a higher qualification in economics is a career investment.

Entry requirements

To complete the Graduate Certificate in Economic Studies

To fulfil the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Economic Studies, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.

To complete the program, a student must complete 8 units from the GCEconSt list comprising - (a) 8 units from part A of the list. If exemptions apply for Part A courses, students are to undertake electives from Part B. With Head of School approval, a student may include 2 units for a level 7 course towards part B.
