This program focuses on issues of governance and analyses how society deals with challenges and policy problems, often by combining the resources of government, private and community sectors.

Students develop practical knowledge combined with high level research skills and a critical, enquiring approach to questions of governance and policy development in the new millennium.

Students will be exposed to leading thinkers and debates in the public, private and community sectors, and will develop capacities to enhance effectiveness in the workplace and gain a better understanding of the way governments operate as well as the major public issues confronting our society.

Structure

Students develop practical knowledge combined with high level research skills and a critical, inquiring approach to questions of governance and policy development in the new millennium. Students will be exposed to leading thinkers and debates in the public, private and community sectors, and will develop capacities to enhance effectiveness in the workplace and gain a better understanding of the way governments operate as well as the major public issues confronting our society. The MGPP offers the opportunity to access a range of public bodies at international, federal and state level through an acclaimed internship scheme. A Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma in Governance and Public Policy are also available.

Entry requirements

To complete the Master of Governance and Public Policy

To fulfil the requirements of the Master of Governance and Public Policy, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
