Back to top Program aims The Bachelor of Health (Honours) aims to commence the research training of students from a variety of health related disciplines including sport and exercise, paramedicine, biomedical science, medical laboratory science, human services, nursing and midwifery.

Graduates who achieve a high level of Honours (either First Class or Second Class division A) would be eligible to apply for a Masters’ program, PhD or Doctor of Health at USQ and other universities.

Entry requirements

Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Health or a related discipline, with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0.
  • English Language Proficiency requirements for Category 3.

Applicants are advised to also note the following:

  • Candidates must have both supervisory and honours committee approval prior to enrolment.

All students are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements.

If students do not meet the English language requirements they may apply to study a University-approved English language program. On successful completion of the English language program, students may be admitted to an award program.

Learning outcomes

Program objectives

On completion of the Bachelor of Health (Honours) students will be able to:

  • demonstrate proficiency in research skills including research planning and implementation, analysis, interpretation and evaluation of research data and the presentation and communication of research findings;
  • demonstrate knowledge and commitment to the ethical and social responsibilities associated with the conduct of research or a discipline project;
  • critically analyse, evaluate and transform information in their discipline area;
  • transmit advanced knowledge, skills and ideas to assist professionals with decision making processes.
