In every sector - business, education, the arts, health, technology, the sciences, government and public policy - people who possess professional communications skills gain a distinct advantage in career development and advancement.

The Graduate Certificate of Professional Communications helps students develop professional expertise and competency in the generation and management of content for a range of audiences.

Communications concepts and ideas are combined with real-world learning and work-integrated projects to encourage students to develop the skills and competencies required for roles in varied professional contexts.

Entry requirements

Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Completion of an Australian university Bachelor degree in any area, or equivalent. orA minimum of five years’ professional work experience equivalent to a qualification at AQF Level 7.
  • English Language Proficiency requirements for Category 3.

All students are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements.

If students do not meet the English language requirements they may apply to study a University-approved English language program. On successful completion of the English language program, students may be admitted to an award program.

Program objectives

On successful completion of the program students should:

  • synthesise and ethically apply skills and knowledge in advanced professional contexts
  • evaluate and critically analyse a range of ideas and theories pertaining to professional communications
  • apply advanced knowledge, skills and competency in the content, epistemology, appreciation and practice of professional communications.
