It is designed for health professionals and health service administrative staff wishing to gain expert skills in leading effective change management, systems integration knowledge, privacy and security management.The course includes information about:electronic medical recordshealth information retrieval and analyticsdata mining and knowledge discoverydata securitybio informatics and bio statisticsmanaging changeThe multi-disciplinary, multi-dimensional field of Health Informatics is the application of information technology to healthcare delivery.

It focusses on the effective use of information and discovery of knowledge for providing real world solutions for improving care delivery and health outcomes.By its very nature, health informatics is challenging and complex.

Yet it is this complexity that makes it such an intriguing, exciting and rewarding field in which to be involved.Students who are interested in the Graduate Diploma or Master are strongly encouraged to undertake the Professional Honours, a Commonwealth Supported Place.

Upon successful completion of the first four units in the Professional Honours students are able to articulate to the Graduate Diploma* or Master* with full advanced standing.*subject to meeting admission requirement of the Graduate Diploma or Master.
