However, when Government guidelines change, on-campus studies will be reintroduced.Information and communications technology (ICT) has been driving profound methodological changes in science over the last few decades.
A significant part of scientific enquiry now relies on computational approaches to complement theory and experiment.
This combined degree merges the study of ICT with any of the emerging or traditional areas of science.
The degree provides students with an opportunity to gain qualifications that will provide more breadth and offer wider opportunities for employment.The Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology delivers knowledge and skills across Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS) and Information Systems (IS) with both a theoretical and practical focus.
It develops technological understanding and skills that are in high demand world-wide, plus builds project management and other business soft-skills that make you an ICT professional.The Bachelor of Science (BSc) is a multi-disciplinary degree which offers both variety and flexibility in subject choice and specialisation.
It provides an effective entry into employment as skills obtained by science graduates problem-solving, critical thinking, team work, specialised subject knowledge and understanding are highly sought after and valued by employers.

Domestic applicants who have recently completed secondary education (in the past two years)
Applicants are ranked by ATAR and offers made based on the number of places available. In 2019, the lowest ATAR to receive an offer into this course was 65.5. The lowest ATAR to receive an offer may change from year to year based on the number of applications we receive.
All other domestic applicants
To be eligible for an offer, you must meet the University’s General Entry Requirements based on your prior studies and experience.
Subject Prerequisites
The following prerequisites apply to students from all educational backgrounds.
We recommend all students commencing this course have completed senior secondary studies in mathematics and computer programming or have equivalent prior studies and experience. If you haven’t completed these studies, we encourage you to complete UTAS Mathematics and Computer Programming foundation units before you enrol in your course. You can also speak to a course advisor about foundation unit options.

If you have not met the prerequisites above, you will need to complete a UTAS foundation unit before you commence your major.
If your ability to access or participate in education has been affected by circumstances beyond your control, you can apply for special consideration as part of your application. We will consider a range of factors, including economic hardship, serious medical condition or disability.
We can only approve applications for special consideration where we are confident that you have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in your studies. If your application is not approved, the UTAS admissions team will work with you to find the best alternative pathway to your chosen course. Special consideration is not available for international applicants.
