The benefits of studying a language go far beyond speaking another language.
Language learning has been shown to positively impact your broader academic performance, engage your brain and improve your employment chances in international and national businesses.The Diploma of Languages can be undertaken as a stand-alone qualification or in conjunction with another degree.
The course is intended to provide students, with or without another degree, the opportunity to improve their language competency.
It is designed to give you the same level of competence in your chose language as someone who has studied the language as a major within the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Arts with Honours.The languages available are Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Ancient Languages at Hobart, and Chinese, Japanese and German at Launceston.
Ancient Languages is also available by distance, meaning you can study anywhere, anytime online.
Structure
The Diploma of Languages requires the completion of a major in a language other than English from the Schedule below.
