This course has been designed to address areas of current need as a result of the increased use of technology within production facilities in the manufacturing sector.

The North-West region of Tasmania has long been recognised as a centre for traditional manufacturing.

In recent decades, market changes have encouraged local businesses to focus on advanced manufacturing such as the supply of components to original equipment manufacturers (OEM).The Undergraduate Certificate in Equipment Design and Project Management aims to prepare you with the skills and knowledge relevant to a range of industries which utilise equipment design and is suited to individuals pursuing a career in the manufacturing industry across a variety of roles.Completion of the Undergraduate Certificate in Equipment Design and Project Management will enable you to:apply industry 4.0 concepts within the manufacturing environmentcommence employment or enhance career opportunitiestransition into further study, with credit into an Associate Degree in Equipment Design and Technology

Structure

Completion of the Undergraduate Certificate in Equipment Design and Project Management requires 50 credit points including:

  • A Core (37.5 credit points)
  • Electives (12.5 credit points)

Entry requirements

This Undergraduate Certificate is open to applicants from a broad range of backgrounds.

DOMESTIC APPLICANTS

Domestic Applicants who have recently completed secondary education

- Completed the TCE (or equivalent)

Domestic Applicants with higher education study - Completed at least one undergraduate unit (equivalent to 12.5 UTAS credit points).

Domestic Applicants with VET / TAFE study - A completed VET Certificate III or higher,

Domestic Applicants with work and life experience: If you have not successfully completed senior secondary, tertiary or TAFE/VET study, but have relevant work and life experience you can complete a personal competency statement. You may be eligible for an offer if you have work and life experiences that demonstrate a capacity to succeed in this course.
