This course prepares nurses to advance their careers in a range of diverse and challenging roles.
Developed in close consultation with industry stakeholders, our course is contemporary and responsive, ensuring that graduates are well prepared to meet the current and future needs of the healthcare system.The course offers a contemporary and responsive curriculum that is industry aligned, evidence-based and research-informed.
UTS works with key health care partners, public health organisations and consumers, to shape and deliver up to the minute content that provides nurses with in-demand skills to meet the ever growing needs of patients and employers.
Students learn from internationally recognised nursing experts and researchers who continue to improve practice and inform policy globally.Students can build their own bespoke program by choosing either no major or one of the specialist eight majors, along with a wide selection of diverse elective subject choices delivered in fully online as well as blended modalities.
The combination of online and blended study mode allows nurses to personalise their learning, with flexible study options.
Course content is focused on innovative, evidence-based practice which enables students to lead improved nursing practice.
Students must complete a total of 72 credit points, choosing one of eight majors (in Leadership and Management, Acute Care , Diabetes, Chronic and Complex ?Care, Primary Health Care, Education, or Health Research) or a no-major option to complete the course. In all options, with the exception of the No major (?who choose eight electives), students choose ?four electives from the list of ?subjects provided within ?the elective choice block. Students who wish to undertake an elective subject that is not listed should seek advice from UTS: Health.

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.
Applicants must have:

Current registration as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Registration is confirmed via the National Register of Practitioners (opens an external site).
Clinical Experience
-
A minimum of one year of post-registration clinical experience; AND
-
Evidence of current employment as a Registered Nurse; OR
-
International applicants should have, where applicable: (a) access to the clinical area of study in Australia AND/OR (b) proven recent clinical experience in their own country or place of residence

International applicants must be a registered nurse in their own country or place of residence and hold a current Authority to Practise. International applicants must also have at least one year of full time post-registration clinical experience.
Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP)
To receive a CSP offer - Places are limited and as such entry is competitive and assessment is based on grade point average (GPA) and demonstrated clinical excellence/merit.
Applications should include:
• a certified copy of all relevant academic transcript(s)
• a personal statement. Please upload a completed CSP Personal Statement Application. Use template provided
• a CV to demonstrate previous relevant experience, and
• any other relevant supporting documentation.
Offers made for CSPs cannot be deferred to future sessions.
The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.
Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.
International students
Visa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.
