About
This course has been established to address skill deficits in domestic and international students wishing to enrol in the UTS Master of Landscape Architecture.
This course is nested within the master's program to allow graduate diploma students to articulate into the second year of the master's.This course is intended primarily for international students with a cognate degree with minimal skill deficits but also appeals to local students who have been in the workforce for some time and wish to return to either undertake a master's or simply up-skill with a graduate diploma.

Entry requirements
Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.
Applicants must have one of the following:
- a completed UTS Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Honours) or equivalent, or
- a completed UTS Graduate Certificate of Landscape Architecture, or
- a UTS recognised bachelor's degree in a cognate field whose academic records do not map directly onto the UTS requirements for direct entry into the Master of Landscape Architecture (cognate fields that may be considered sit within the design disciplines of the built environment such as architecture, landscape architecture, urban design and interior architecture).
In addition to the above qualifications, applicants need to provide the following:
- a digital portfolio (3–5 examples of design projects) in PDF format consisting of the applicant's landscape architectural projects
- a personal statement of 300 words (max.) in PDF format addressing their reasons for wanting to undertake the Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture.
The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.
Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.
International students
Visa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.
