The Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management provides participants with sound knowledge and skills in the field of human resource management (HRM), enabling participants to develop expertise across the field of HRM and its issues, including employment relations and other management practices.The course provides an avenue for participants to gain theoretical and practical skills in the fields of HRM and IR.

It is based on the master's program but requires fewer units of study.

In most circumstances, participants can choose to progress to the Master of Human Resource Management (C04286) on satisfactory completion of this course.

Structure

Students must complete a total of 48 credit points consisting of a combination of core, specialised and elective subjects.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.

Professional Experience Requirement: At least two years full time, or equivalent, relevant managerial work experience.

The managerial or supervisory work experience must be demonstrated through a C.V. and a Statement of Service, confirming the dates of employment and the position held within the organisation.

All applicants who do not meet the professional experience requirement may still be considered for the Graduate Certificate in Business Immersion and Career Transition (C11300).

The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.

Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.

International students

Visa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.
