This course is suitable for those who wish to change careers, for qualified Landscape Architects who want to update their skills, or for anyone wanting to undertake an accredited Masters of Landscape Architecture at UTS via the Graduate Certificate in Landscape Architecture.The Graduate Certificate in Landscape Architecture are offered as a pathway to the accredited Masters of Landscape Architecture.

It is available to any student who has already completed an undergraduate degree.On completion of the Graduate Certificate in Landscape Architecture, students are eligible to articulate to the Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture with 24 credit points of credit recognition and then successfully articulate into the first year of the Master of Landscape architecture.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.

Applicants must have one of the following:

  • a completed UTS recognised Bachelor's degree in any field, OR
  • a completed UTS recognised bachelor's degree in a *cognate field

In addition to the above qualifications, applicants need to provide the following:

  • a digital portfolio (3–5 examples of design projects) in PDF format consisting of the applicant's landscape architectural projects
  • a personal statement of 300 words (max.) in PDF format addressing their reasons for wanting to undertake the Graduate Certificate in Landscape Architecture.

*Cognate fields are defined from within the ANZSCO group 040100 Architecture & Urban Environment General.

The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.

Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.

International students

Visa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.
