The studio provide mentorship and a collaborative practice-based learning environment to develop competencies.The course teaches students to think in different ways that enable them to unravel problems, while building postgraduate level content knowledge in subject areas of their choice.The course for ethical innovative leadershipAs graduates, students become decision makers and communicators who tackle complex problems.

Students are required to complete 24 credit points, comprising 6 credit points of studio subject and 18 credit points of professional-focused subjects.

Course completion requirements

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.

In addition to the above qualifications, applicants need to satisfy professional practice requirements by providing materials substantiating their professional work experience (at ANZSCO skill level 1 – bachelor’s degree or higher) of at least 2 years full time (or equivalent). This requirement may be demonstrated through a CV or a Statement of Service confirming the dates of employment, and position(s) held within the organisation.

Alternative admission pathway

Applicants who do not meet the above academic requirements but have extensive professional work experience (at ANZSCO skill level 1 – bachelor’s degree or higher) and a general capacity to undertake tertiary education may be considered. This will be supported by submission of:

• CV or a Statement of Service outling work experience and the dates of employment and position(s) held within the organisation
• A one-page Personal Statement outlining the applicant’s interest in the course and any contemporary professional education undertaken.

Assessment of other criteria:

• The CV or Statement of Service demonstrates extensive work as a manager or professional, and the applicant’s ability to critically appraise their work.
• The Personal Statement clearly articulates the applicant’s learning expectations which align with the course intended outcomes and demonstrates capacity to undertake the course (such as, but not limited to, successful completion of UTS postgraduate microcredentials).

Applicants considered under these alternative criteria may be required to attend an interview.

Applicants who do not meet the above additional requirements for professional practice but have less than 2 years’ professional work experience or alternative experiences through their contributions to organisations and/or communities and/or enterprises may be considered. This will be supported by submission of:

• CV or a Statement of Service outlining experiences and education, the dates, role(s) and contribution(s) to organisations or the community or enterprises.
• A one-page Personal Statement outlining the applicant’s interest in the course.

Assessment of other criteria:

• The CV or Statement of Service demonstrates significant contribution to organisations and/or communities and/or enterprises, and their ability to critically appraise their contributions.
• The Personal Statement clearly articulates the applicant’s learning expectations which align with the course intended outcomes.

Applicants considered under these alternative criteria may be required to attend an interview.

The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.

International students

Visa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.
