This course prepares nurses to advance their careers in a range of diverse and challenging roles.

Developed in close consultation with industry stakeholders, our course is contemporary and responsive, ensuring that graduates are well prepared to meet the current and future needs of the healthcare system.

Subjects incorporate up-to-the-minute evidence and content, and are all intended to positively impact outcomes for health care consumers.Students develop specialised knowledge and highly sought-after skills to lead, advocate and enhance the quality of care for patients and their families, with complex illnesses and co-morbidities, using evidence to make informed clinical decisions.

Graduates are well equipped to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, able to appraise and develop their own practice, as well as contribute to the professional development of others.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.

The English proficiency requirement for local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.

Local students

Applicants must hold current registration as a nurse in Australia. Registered nurses who do not have an undergraduate diploma, or degree, but do have recent relevant work experience and can demonstrate the capacity to undertake tertiary study, may also be considered eligible.

Applicants must have one year of post-registration clinical experience.

Students' current nursing registration is confirmed via the national Registers of Practitioners. Students should ensure details of their registration are up-to-date on this register.
