About
The Diploma in Innovation is a new undergraduate degree with half the credit points of double bachelors.
It was created as a direct response to industry demand for graduates to work at the intersection of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.The Diploma is an exciting opportunity to stand out among graduates from your discipline by learning how to collaborate across disciplines to address complex problems.
It is available to students undertaking almost any UTS undergraduate degree.
This course can be taken alongside your core degree, allowing you to achieve two qualifications in the same time that it will take you to obtain one.
Accelerated pathways through the diploma are available, too.The first of its kind in Australia, this course allows students to gain exposure to real-world problems and collaborate with a diverse group of students, academics and industry partners, consolidating the course aims in their chosen area of study while developing the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship skills sought by government, employers and society alike.
Structure
Students must complete 48 credit points made up of 32 credit points of compulsory subjects and 16 credit points of electives (each 8 credit points).
Subjects are organised in two streams (each 24 credit points). The streams relate to the areas of creative intelligence, and innovation and entrepreneurship.

Entry requirements
Applicants for admission must satisfy the selection criteria as specified by the faculty.
Admission is only open to UTS undergraduate coursework students. Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation, the Bachelor of Technology and Innovation, or the Digital Creative Enterprise major are ineligible for simultaneous admission with the Diploma of Innovation.
The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.
Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.
International students
Visa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.
