Contact Future Students for more information.Fieldwork can be demanding and poses unique research challenges as well as risks to the security and safety of the researcher and research participants.
Fieldwork also relies on the researcher's ability to clearly understand their research design and methods in order to effectively and ethically access, collect and manage data in the field. This course teaches a range of applied research methodologies and field skills and techniques to prepare students for undertaking detailed fieldwork research with vulnerable research participants and/or for extended periods overseas or in less secure and/or complex and hostile environments.Students develop theoretically grounded, practical knowledge of what is required to undertake applied research in complex and hostile places.
This course provides a rigorous framework through which students can develop an integrated research plan, ethics application and fieldwork risk management plan to support cutting edge postgraduate research that is required for postgraduate research theses.
