Agriculture and Environment, Biological Sciences, Earth Sciences, Human Sciences, Molecular Sciences and Psychological Science.Students will gain advanced knowledge in their chosen area of study, through independent research and coursework units that include a literature review/proposal unit and an advanced coursework unit.

S1, S2 SCIE5580 MSc Research Proposal Prerequisites: enrolment in the Master of Science (thesis and coursework) (70630); students must have a supervisor, approved by the Faculty, who has confirmed their willingness and availability to supervise the literature review Incompatibility: SCIE5590 Literature Review and Research Proposal This includes introductory workshops on research methods and scientific writing as required, otherwise students work under the guidance of their project supervisors to develop their research proposal and literature review.
S1, S2 SCIE5721 Master of Science Thesis (full-time) (36 points) No formal contact – students work under the guidance of their project supervisors to undertake the research to completion of the thesis by the due date.
S1, S2 SCIE5722 Master of Science Thesis (part-time) (36 points) No formal contact – students work under the guidance of their project supervisors to undertake the research to completion of the thesis by the due date.

Take one unit (6 points) at level 4 or 5 in a discipline associated with the research project, subject to the approval of the project supervisor.

Entry requirements

4. To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—

(a) a Bachelor of Science with at least upper second class Honours (2A), or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA;

and

(b) a written agreement by a suitable research supervisor.
