Graduate Certificate in Education (Social Ecology)

Western Sydney University

About

The Graduate Certificate of Education (Social Ecology) explores the inter-relationships between the personal, social, environmental and spiritual domains.

We acknowledge that everything we do as individuals affects others.

We view ourselves as parts of the systems in which we live, taking responsibility for our roles.

Students apply an introduction to social-ecological understanding to their professional or community environment to arrive at engaged understandings of those systems of practice.

They develop skills in the analysis of ecological relationships through critical thinking, creative practice and effective communication.

Graduates demonstrate awareness of social-ecological issues and take responsibility for their development.

This course is delivered through a combination of online and on campus intensive teaching methods.Applicants for admission into the Graduate Certificate in Education (Social Ecology) must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in any discipline (AQF Level 7) or at least 8 years full-time equivalent professional work experience in environmental studies, communication, media studies, public health or society and culture.
