About

The Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics is a three-year degree designed to develop students skills and expertise in languages, linguistics, inter-lingual and inter-cultural communication.

The course consists of a specialisation in a language other than English (LOTE), a specialisation in Linguistics, four Bachelor of Arts generic core units, and 40 credit points of elective units (which may be used towards a sub-specialisation in another language).

The Bachelor of Languages and Linguistics course equips graduates to use their language and linguistics skills in professional settings such as teaching, interpreting and translation, journalism, business or international relations.

Employment opportunities may be found in the State and Commonwealth public service, overseas organisations, the media, business and industry, education and research.

Structure

Qualification for this award requires the successful completion of 240 credit points with no less than 60 credit points at Level 3.
