Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Laws

Accreditation Graduates of the Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Laws are eligible to apply to the Legal Profession Admission Board for admission to legal practice in NSW after undertaking prescribed practical legal training. Providing students complete unit 200019 Revenue Law (students can select this as an LLB alternate unit), this degree satisfies the accreditation requirements of CPA Australia (CPA), Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) for entry into their respective programs. Completion of this degree will allow students to claim a number of exemptions from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in obtaining the CIMA Professional Qualification. In addition, by utilising their alternate units to complete the Taxation major, MT2032, students satisfy the tertiary education requirements to register as a Tax (Financial) Adviser and a Tax Agent with the TPB. Students choosing to exit with the Bachelor of Accounting at the end of the third year who wish to seek professional accreditation as an accountant will need to complete all units listed in the first three years of the recommended course sequence and units 200019 Revenue Law (students can select this as an LLB alternate unit) and 200018 Law of Associations (an additional unit).

Bachelor of Accounting

The Bachelor of Accounting provides students with an in-depth knowledge of accounting, supported by knowledge of associated disciplines of law, economics, finance and statistics. The degree is unique in its scope and coverage offering qualification in accounting and, in combination with available majors, in financial planning and taxation.On successful completion of the Financial Planning and Taxation specialisation the degree satisfies the eligibility requirements of the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) to become a Financial Planner AFP® and prepares students for entry into the Certified Financial Planner CFP® Certification, It is also accredited by, and meets the education requirements of the Financial Planning Education Council (FPEC) which satisfies the new federal government education requirements as mandated by the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA). This course meets the RG146 generic knowledge requirements, specialist knowledge requirements and skills requirements as they currently stand. Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Laws

The Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Laws double degree program allows graduates to span both the legal and scientific worlds in a way that single degree graduates cannot. It provides students with the capacity for critical analysis and independent thinking. The double degrees permit students to undertake multi-skilling, and offer diverse career paths providing high marketability in multiple areas of expertise. The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) provides students with professional legal skills including the ability to analyse legal material and understand fundamental legal principles; an understanding of the relationship between law and society; the skills to analyse and solve legal and non-legal problems and specialised study into the Australian legal system. The science component gives students the skills necessary for quantification, and scientific problem solving.

Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry)

This course provides students with professional legal skills, including the ability to analyse legal material and understand fundamental legal principles; an understanding of the relationship between law and society; general analytical skills for analysing and solving non-legal problems and specialised study into the Australian legal system. Special emphasis is placed on legal skills. During their course students will develop skills in advocacy, negotiation, legal drafting and legal research. Both campuses have excellent facilities, including state-of-the-art moot courts for students to practise advocacy skills and excellent library and computer-based law research facilities.

Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)

The Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) is a four-year degree that equips students with a thorough grounding in the scientific discipline of psychology, research skills sought after by employers, and psychological literacy that can be applied to any occupation or aspect of life. In the first three years students complete a 120 credit point core sequence in psychology, a 40 credit point psychology extension sub-major, and 80 credit points of open electives. Entry to fourth year requires a minimum academic standard. Students who do not achieve this standard will exit from the degree at the end of third year and graduate instead with a Bachelor of Psychological Studies. For students who meet the entry requirements, fourth year is an honours program consisting of a 30 credit point research thesis and 50 credit points of course work.Accreditation This course is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) on the basis that it meets all the APAC Accreditation Standards (June 2010) for a four year sequence of study in psychology.

Bachelor of Educational Studies (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education) (exit only)

The Bachelor of Educational Studies (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education) is an exit point on completion of 240 credit points of study from the 1717 Bachelor of Education (Primary) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education). This course provides an exit point for students who do not meet the National Literacy and Numeracy TEST requirement.

Bachelor of Policing
