Science (Honours) - an enhanced program for high achievers

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) Enhanced Program for High Achievers requires four years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). The course is offered by the College of Science and Engineering.The course is designed to allow students flexibility to choose a tailored program from a field of study within the College of Science and Engineering, and where appropriate complement this study with a relevant discipline from across the University. Honours and ongoing research training will be an integral part of the course.This course will offer students of exceptional merit additional challenging material to enable them to maximise their intellectual growth and potential and to provide an environment where students with similar interests and capabilities can come together to pursue their studies, develop their interests and share ideas.In addition, it aims to develop through a combination of inquiry based learning and students' capabilities, interest and enthusiasm, an enhanced research training experience so that students are particularly well prepared to embark on a larger scale research project, like a PhD.

The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) requires four years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). Students who are enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice (Honours) and who do not wish to undertake the Practical Legal Training component may be eligible to transfer to the Bachelor of Laws (Honours). The course is offered by the College of Business, Government and Law. Students who complete this award cannot be admitted to Legal Practice without completing further practical legal training. This course is designed to offer students of exceptional merit the opportunity to maximise their potential, by providing an environment in which students with similar capabilities and interests will work with key staff of the College to develop their legal knowledge and expertise as they pursue their studies. The course extends the curriculum offered in the Bachelor of Laws and includes higher performance expectations and the demonstration of independent research capabilities and advanced knowledge and understanding.Students who complete this award cannot be admitted to Legal Practice without completing further practical legal training.

Laws (Graduate entry) (Honours)

The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) as a graduate-entry program requires three-and-a-half years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). Students who are enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice (Graduate Entry) (Honours) degree and who do not wish to undertake the Practical Legal Training component may be eligible to transfer to the Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) (Honours). The course is offered by the College of Business, Government and Law. This course is designed to offer students of exceptional merit the opportunity to maximise their potential, by providing an environment in which students with similar capabilities and interests will work with key staff of the College to develop their legal knowledge and expertise as they pursue their studies. The course extends the curriculum offered in the Bachelor of Laws and includes higher performance expectations and the demonstration of independent research capabilities and advanced knowledge and understanding.Students who complete this award cannot be admitted to Legal Practice without completing further practical legal training.

The course is offered by the College of Business, Government and Law. This course is designed to offer students of exceptional merit the opportunity to maximise their potential, by providing an environment in which students with similar capabilities and interests will work with key staff of the College to develop their legal knowledge and expertise as they pursue their studies. The course extends the curriculum offered in the Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice and includes higher performance expectations and the demonstration of independent research capabilities and advanced knowledge and understanding. The course meets all of the academic and professional training requirements for admission to Legal Practice.Students who do not wish to undertake the Practical Legal Training component may be eligible to transfer to the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and complete in four years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). However, these students cannot be admitted to Legal Practice without completing further practical legal training. Students who choose to transfer to the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) must complete 94.5 units of compulsory topics, a 13.5 unit dissertation topic, and 36 units of option topics of which 22.5 units must be taken at Honours/Masters level as listed under Option -Year 4 topics in the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) course rule.
