Graduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Complementary Medicines

Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) refers to a broad domain of healing resources that encompasses all health systems, modalities, and practices and their accompanying theories and beliefs, other than those intrinsic to the politically dominant health system of a particular society of culture in a given historical period. This course has been developed to assist health professionals in developing the evidence-based knowledge and skills required to meet the consumer demand for CAM products as well as satisfying their professional and ethical responsibilities. It is a part time, postgraduate course and is offered online only. It consists of four core subjects taught by the Faculty of Health, School of Medicine. Candidates must complete the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in a minimum of 2 semesters and a maximum of three years, from the time of first enrolment.

It is available to carers, health professionals and anyone with an interest in learning more about dementia. Articulation into further study at Associate Degree and Bachelor are available on completion of your Diploma.With the rise in prevalence in dementia and the need to provide quality care in the community, health care centres and hospitals, and in residential care, it is becoming essential that health care workers in aged care develop specialised knowledge in this field so that you can make a difference to the lives of people living with dementia.This is a fully online course with no face to face or workplace assessment components.

Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice

The Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice is 26-week full-time professional and practical training course conducted by the Centre for Legal Studies in Hobart. The course runs from February to July each year. It prepares law graduates for the conduct of legal practice. Graduate Certificate in Parliamentary Law and Practice

Course is currently only offered to students nominated by ANZACATTThe purpose of the course is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the law, procedure and practice of parliaments and other related public law topics, such as the relationship of parliament to the executive and the courts. The course will examine common-law Westminster systems and their incorporation into the governments of Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.The Graduate Certificate in Parliamentary Law and Practice is a professional training program specifically designed for parliamentary clerks. However, because the law and custom of parliament is of interest to persons other than clerks, such as members of parliament and students of the parliamentary process, it is proposed that it be open to any person with undergraduate or post graduate qualifications in law or politics.

Graduate Diploma of Spatial Science

Graduate Diploma of Land Surveying

This 1-year (minimum) full-time or part-time course is offered by the College of Sciences and Engineering. The degree is available on the Hobart campus with entry in Semester 1. There may be limited occasions where entry into Semester 2 is acceptable. Graduate Certificate in Protected Area Planning

Throughout the world there are over 160,000 protected areas that are managed with the aim of ensuring the long term conservation of nature with associated ecosystem services and cultural values.Good planning is essential if protected areas are to achieve this aim.This course equips students with the knowledge and skills required by contemporary protected area planners. This course covers planning practice in government, private and community-based protected areas.The course has been developed as part of an initiative to establish a protected area learning and research centre. This initiative is being led by a Steering Committee comprising representatives from The University of Tasmania, Tasmania Parks & Wildlife Service, Tasmanian Land Conservancy, Parks Victoria, Parks Australia, IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas, James Cook University, Murdoch University and Charles Darwin University.
