The Graduate Certificate in Urban Design may be undertaken full-time over one semester or part-time over one year (two semesters). The course will produce skilled graduates in urban design and urbanism who may work on all continents in design, management and teaching roles.This course will further allow students from international backgrounds to understand urban design in an Australian context. At the heart of the course is the urban design studio, which will allow you to synthesise your background professional expertise with new urban design knowledge and skills. The graduate certificate will provide you with a foundation for the more intensive theoretical and practical work undertaken in the graduate diploma.

The Graduate Certificate in Transport focuses on the areas concerning the engineering, urban planning, and business management of transport.This professional qualification is ideal for graduates wanting to pursue a career in the ever-growing global transport sector or professionals already in the field wanting to upskill.It is designed to develop your critical understanding about the prevalence and identification of transport systems, core capabilities for analysing and designing such systems, and proficiencies in broad interdisciplinary analysis.It is based on our Master of Transport but requires fewer units of study.

Offering excellent flexibility, the sustainability program lets you tailor your subjects to suit your background and career interests. First, you will build a foundation in sustainability, with core units including health and population, energy and resources, food and water security, policy and governance, social change, and sustainability analysis tools. Then, you will broaden your study of sustainability by choosing your electives across a range of areas or focus on one aspect by choosing related electives. You may also consider going on to complete the Master of Sustainability where you have the chance to complete a capstone project. Our flexible Graduate Certificate in Surgical Sciences course will help you to develop knowledge and skills in surgical specialty areas as well as non-technical areas such as professionalism, leadership and research. Our course can also help you prepare for the GSSE.Why study with us? As a surgery student, you will learn from highly regarded clinicians and academics at the Sydney Medical School.This course will help you acquire important and sought after knowledge and skills, including basic subspecialty knowledge, critical thinking and critical appraisal, all of which is valuable for an academic or teaching hospital career. How will you learn? The majority of our units are taught online and some have a short workshop component (1 or 2 day). The exceptions are surgical anatomy and microsurgery which are taught face-to-face.You will also have the option to complete a dissertation in your chosen subspecialty area and will receive a certificate of completion on submission.Who should study this course? Our Graduate Certificate in Surgical Sciences provides an early pathway for senior medical students (years 3 or 4) or medical graduates to undertake study that will assist them in their preparation for the Generic Surgical Science Examination (GSSE) conducted by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS).Advanced medical students enrolled in graduate medical programs who have completed their preclinical science studies, would be able to enrol in 1 unit of study (6 credit point per unit of study) per semester and complete the graduate certificate at the same time as completing their medical program. They would also have the option of applying their 24 credit points towards the Master of Surgery in place of the Graduate Certificate in Surgical Sciences. Study sexual and reproductive health at Sydney and develop a nuanced understanding of the challenges in Australia and internationally.In this course there are four specialisations on offer. If you choose a public health or a generalist 'no speciality' pathway all units of study will be completely online. If you choose HIV and STIs or Pyschosexual therapy and reproductive health and fertility, these specialisations are also mostly online, however they do require a 2 week intensive face-to-face session on campus. Both options are extremely flexible and will allow you to tailor your study schedule around your lifestyle. Globally, the challenges of sexual and reproductive health including HIV/STIs, infertility, and unintended pregnancy continue to be a significant public health issue. Challenges to sexual function and wellbeing also impact on the health of individuals. Comprehensive prevention and treatment of sexual and reproductive health issues requires a thorough understanding of the psychosocial contexts in which they occur as well as the biological and diagnostic aspects of sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing.
