Specifically, students will learn techniques including exercise prescription, goal setting, measurement of physical activity and sedentary behaviours and fitness evaluation.

The Graduate Certificate in Port Engineering is a one-year program consisting of 50 credit points (may also be taken part-time). The objective of the course is to improve the capacity of organisations and individuals to deliver their roles and responsibilities for Port and Harbour design and management by increasing the depth and diversity of knowledge and skills of professionals practising in the Port and Coastal Engineering industry. The course is endorsed by Ports Australia. It consists of a combination of intensive periods of face-to-face teaching on campus and distance assessments. Teaching is based on a synergetic approach between world leading scientists in the field of Maritime Engineering and eminent practitioners in the field of Maritime, Coastal and Port Engineering. The variety of specialised coursework electives is designed to enable students to meet their individual career goals as well as meeting industry-defined objectives.

This course aims to further enhance physiotherapists' knowledge of epidemiology, health issues related to incontinence, and the anatomy, applied anatomy, physiology and pathology relevant for the assessment and treatment of incontinence. Diagnostic techniques, prevention and intervention strategies including exercise, electrotherapy, biofeedback and continence devices will be addressed. Course content will include specific issues related to adult female and male continence, anorectal continence, incontinence in children and in the older population. The course will require active participation by student in physical assessment and supervised clinical practice. Participants will also develop skills in the use of outcomes measures, the design of single case design studies, and critical review of the literature pertaining to problems of continence.

The Graduate Certificate in Physiotherapy (Paediatrics) is offered to physiotherapists who wish to enhance their knowledge and clinical management skills as a means of improving professional practice in paediatrics.

The Graduate Certificate in Physiotherapy (Exercise and Women's Health) consists of two subjects each of 12.5 points and the Professional portfolio of 25 points.

The Professional Certificate in Education (Positive Behaviour and Learning) meets the professional learning needs of teachers working with students with challenging behaviours.The Semester One subject, EDUC90287 Promoting Positive Learning, explores strategies for promoting positive learning for students, particularly those with disabilities, enrolled in early intervention and school settings. Whole school curriculum approaches are examined, alongside targeted interventions for students requiring intensive support for their learning.The Semester Two subject, EDUC90290 Promoting Positive Behaviour, considers how teachers can better understand student behaviour and its impact on learning. Central to this course are research-based educational approaches for understanding the function of challenging behaviour, promoting positive behaviour, and implications for classroom practice.

The Graduate Certificate in Primary Care Nursing is a tailored course for nurses working in a primary care setting that delivers comprehensive and evidence-based education in chronic disease, prevention, women’s health, mental health or youth health. Commonwealth government policy priorities in primary health care include an enhanced role for the practice nurse and this has been recognised in the course subjects. This course is delivered by flexible education (distance, online and face-to face).

The course aims to be the industry standard for working in specialist palliative care and will be delivered by experts in their fields, drawn from multiple institutions around Victoria , as appropriate. Course content will explore the core concepts of palliative care including; pain and symptom management, the interface between aged care and palliative care, communication skills, non malignant diseases, psychosocial concepts, family carers, paediatric palliative care and bereavement care.
