The Graduate Diploma of Professional Archaeology is a one-year, 120-credit point course that develops skills needed for working in commercial archaeology and heritage management. It offers hands-on training in archaeological survey and excavation techniques, heritage legislation, Aboriginal and historical archaeology and business skills. Many subjects are taught in block mode and off campus. The course may serve as a pathway into the Masters degree. This accredited 1-year (full time) coursework program prepares you for work as a recognised allied health professional in the area of rehabilitation counselling. The course provides a comprehensive introduction to rehabilitation and counselling concepts and practices for professionals working in the health, welfare, and the occupational arena. We prepare you for work with populations characterised by chronic conditions (mental and/or physical) or disability. Focus is on client involvement, coordination of services and maintaining individuals in the community to assist clients to reach their potential in rehabilitation/community settings. Core subjects relate to areas such as counselling skills (including motivational interviewing), core psychosocial factors that can impact on rehabilitation, case management, vocational rehabilitation, rehabilitation services (e.g. mental health) and a 20-day placement in second semester first year. The Graduate Diploma in Midwifery is a one-year full-time, 150 credit point award, with teaching conducted at either the Bendigo or Melbourne (Bundoora) campuses. It is designed to enable appropriately qualified and experienced nurses to undertake studies in midwifery. The course is undertaken in one year full-time study only. The program timetable offers a combination of block and online modes. Clinical requirements of the course must be achieved prior to completion of the program. You can combine your existing skills in any discipline with industry-driven, business-focused IT skills. It is part of a three-tier postgraduate program where you may articulate into the Master of Information Systems Management or the Master of Business Information Management and Systems. You will learn to develop business solutions in areas such as customer relationships, management, marketing or accounting and finance using industry based enterprise resource planning tools (e.g. SAP) and business intelligence tools (e.g. SAS).
