Machining for Enthusiasts, Hobbyists and Beginners

If you have always wanted to learn the skills to be able to make your own customised precision metal parts using equipment such as lathes and milling machines for work or play, after hours course will hit the mark! This course will provide participants with practical skills in basic machining on lathes, milling machines and ancillary machines such as pedestal drills and grinders. Participants are welcome to bring in a proposal for their own projects and discuss their suitability with the lecturer. Examples of suitable projects might include metal craft work, hobby train or aeroplane projects. Project exceptions will include vehicle components and weapons. You will be required to wear personal protective clothing at all times in the pratical workshop which include steel capped safety boots, clear safety glasses, coverall style overalls.
