SPUO-BLELC v.1 Business and Law Elective Specialisation

Specialisations/Minors prepare students to develop broad knowledge about an additional discipline area or same discipline area that complements their study in an award course. Some Specialisations may assist students to progress into postgraduate studies, but have specific entry requirements. This is an Open Elective Specialisation for students enrolled in the undergraduate Business and Law courses. Students can choose from any 100 credit point units across the university.

SPUE-INDLW v.1 Indigenous Pre Law Specialisation

This pathway is designed to support Indigenous Australian students in developing and applying fundamental knowledge and practices in Law. Students who have successfully completed the Pre-Law pathway are eligible to apply for direct entry into the Bachelor of Laws (B-LAWS) or the Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Commerce Double Degree (BB-LAWCOM).

This pathway is designed to support Indigenous Australian students in developing and applying fundamental knowledge and practices in Business. Students who have successfully completed the Pre-Business pathway are eligible to apply for direct entry into the Bachelor of Commerce (B-COMRCE)/Bachelor of Business Administration (B-BUSADM) or other Curtin equivalent award degrees.

Some Specialisations may assist students to progress into postgraduate studies, but have specific entry requirements. This specialisation provides students with the relevant knowledge and skills to become effective managers in the closely related sectors of Tourism and Hospitality within Australia and overseas.

SPUC-SOCLE v.2 Social Leadership and Ethics Specialisation

Specialisations/Minors prepare students to develop broad knowledge about an additional discipline area or same discipline area that complements their study in an award course. Some Specialisations may assist students to progress into postgraduate studies, but have specific entry requirements. This specialisation provides students with a foundation of leadership and managerial knowledge, insights and abilities that will enable them to understand current and future leadership challenges, demonstrate cross-cultural competence and engage with global perspectives in ethical and sustainable ways. As such it aligns with UN's Principles for responsible Management Education (PRME). Additional Course Expenses Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks and other essential study materials.

Some Specialisations may assist students to progress into postgraduate studies, but have specific entry requirements. This specialisation is designed for enterprising individuals who want to start their own business, or work as internal corporate entrepreneurs.

SPUC-RETSC v.1 Retail and Supply Chain Specialisation

This specialisation provides students with the relevant knowledge and skills to effectively manage the operational aspects of retail and the associated supply chain elements.

SPUC-PUBRL v.1 Public Relations Specialisation

Some Specialisations may assist students to progress into postgraduate studies, but have specific entry requirements. This specialisation prepares students for involvement in primary decision-making that originates policies, products and services which become the basis of relationships, whilst preparing them for major communications roles.

SPUC-PROPT v.1 Property Investment Specialisation

This specialisation is designed for students seeking to gain foundational knowledge specific to the property discipline. Professional Recognition This property specialisation will not be eligible for Australian Property Institute (API) membership at the Certified Practicing Valuer (CPV) level.
