The classes combine theoretical knowledge in Business with practical insights delivered through case studies, guest lectures and work-integrated learning. Diploma of Arts

The Diploma of Artsopens up a wide range ofcareer and further study opportunitiesin disciplinesincluding Communication, Creative Arts, Film and Television, Global Studies (Sustainability),Humanities, International Relations, Journalism, Psychological Science and Social Science. The Diploma of Arts will teach students core skills to enhance their career prospects, whether that be a student fresh out of school or someone wishing to upgrade their qualifications. Successful completion of the Diploma of Artsguarantees students a place in most undergraduate degrees at Bond University, with a possible 80 credit points credited towards their new program of study. Students are advised to check the degree study structures online to confirm for which subjects they may receive credit.

Diploma Preparation Program

The September semester for this program will be delivered in a multi-modal format, with classes designed to support and engage all learners. Whether they’re on campus or abroad, all students will be able to access Bond’s exceptional and personalised learning experience through dynamic and interactive lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops and lab sessions.The Bond University College Diploma Preparation Program is designed to give students the academic and digital literacy skills required to enter a Bond University Higher Education Diploma Program.The Diploma Preparation consists of three subjects and takes only one semester (four months) to complete, allowing you to enter your Diploma program sooner and be on your pathway to a Bond University Bachelor Degree Program.

Graduate Diploma in Architecture

The Graduate Diploma in Architecture is a pathway qualification for students who have already completed an undergraduate degree in a field other than architecture. Students study for 2 semesters full time to acquire foundation knowledge in design, history, construction technology, communications, and urban sustainability. After completion of the Graduate Diploma in Architecture, approved students may then continue on to the accredited Master of Architecture (SD-93017) four-semester professional program. Students may commence the program in either January or May. The Graduate Diploma is delivered in a creative studio-based environment focusing heavily upon design through hands-on and digital making with state-of-the-art tools. Project-based design studios focus upon real-world scenarios with specific attention to fundamentals of architectural design including materiality, landscape, and/or spatial atmospheres. Graduates will display foundation skills in architectural design that are creative, critical, analytical, and spatial, as well as basic historical, theoretical, climate/environmental, technical and disciplinary knowledge from core studies. Both digital and by-hand skills in drawing, physical making, and rapid prototyping are introduced in workshops, seminars, and studios. This program is intended for students who have creative design ability and wish to ultimately pursue a career in architecture or related field. Students will come from a diverse range of backgrounds, making the experience of the Graduate Diploma of Architecture one that is highly interdisciplinary and diverse in terms of the age, background, and experience levels of the student cohort.

Master of Business Administration in Health

Health management and the specific issues and challenges of business within the health sector is an area of increasing interest. This includes an identified need to train and prepare managers and leaders of both hospitals and other health focussed specialist businesses. Thisprogram is primarily targeted at physicians, clinicians and other healthcare providers who are at the career stage of moving towards managing large departments or teams within a hospital environment as well as medical business professionals operating health services businesses. Emphasis is placed ondeveloping leadership abilities to lead teams and manage complex projects in a dynamic environment. Managing funding and financial issues that require both innovative and agile approaches to improve quality and efficiency is also a focus of this program.

Master of Business Administration

The Bond MBAis a generalist management program of 12 subjects. Designed to blend industry-relevant research with practical applications and challenges, the intended learning outcomes are centred on the three pillars of leadership, global business and entrepreneurship, developing graduates who can think critically and strategically in this context. The program is designed to provide graduates with the core underlying technical skills that inform effective decision making, framed around the development of the interpersonal, cross-cultural and communication skills that are required to lead in the implementation of these decisions.

Master of Architecture (Professional)

The Master of Architecture (Professional)provides a tailored architectural education in a creative studio-based environment focusing heavily upon design through hands-on and digital making with state-of-the-art tools. Project-based design studios focus upon real-world scenarios with specific attention to urbanism, the future of global cities, and the role of architecture and the architect in addressing urban, environmental, social, and technological change. Graduates will display mastery of architectural design abilities that are creative, critical, analytical, and spatial and based in advanced historical, theoretical, technical and disciplinary knowledge. All graduates will complete a design thesis as the cumulative result of the Masters course that demonstrates independent, self-directed critical thinking and sophisticated design capability. After completing the thesis, this program incorporates a 12-week professional portfolio subject providing students with an opportunity to undertake either an internship (eligibility criteria applies) or professional research project, which results in graduating with highly relevant work-preparation. Through the program offerings at the Abedian School of Architecture, issues of pressing international and national concern form the core content of the studio curriculum. Among the most prominent of these are the challenges posed by our contemporary condition globally, one characterised by rapid urbanisation, environmental change, technological emergence, and increasing socioeconomic inequity. The Master of Architecture (Professional) will prepare students for globally-relevant employment through development of a sophisticated set of disciplinary competencies and acquired knowledge, providing the ability to synthesise diverse information in the resolution of complex creative-design challenges using a globally-applicable skillset that is deployed locally. Students in the Master of Architecture (Professional) will study for 6semesters full time. Studies include content from the disciplines of architecture, digital media, construction, city planning, urban design, and university electives. Key highlights of the program include an annual all-school “charrette”, several off-campus study tours (including a paid international studio trip for eligible* students), a monthly international guest-lecture series, study with distinguished guest faculty and Architects-In-Residence, a bi-annual student exhibition and publication, and an internationally and nationally recognized academic staff of scholars and practitioner-teachers. Students undertake the Master of Architecture (Professional) in a unique setting: the national and international award-winning Abedian School of Architecture. This facility and its associated Fabrication and Robotics Lab are dedicated for student use, creating an environment to support creative activity that is accessible 24/7 throughout the year. Students enjoy their own studio-based desk in the School provided for the duration of their studies, which becomes the point of personalised contact with program staff for an individualised, highly supported education. The limited student cohort size of the School is maintained to ensure all students have unique access to workshop facilities and program staff that is unparalleled almost anywhere globally. *Student participation in the International study tour is subject to VISA approval, alternative teachingactivities will be organised for students not able to travel.

Bachelor of Project Management

The Bachelor of Project Management concerns projectised decision-making applicable to a wide range of different industry sectors. It builds on three foundation semesters comprising business acumen, project framework, process analysis and core skilldevelopment before three further practice semesters comprising technical, tactical and strategic decision-making. The program includes comprehensive coverage of project schedule, cost, resource, scope, quality, procurement, communications, risk and stakeholder management, two elective choices and concludes with a capstone subject on project integration management. Thereis an organisational change focus in the curriculum’s design. The program’s curriculum is purposely built around the PMBOK® Guide, which is the international standard for the project management discipline.

Medical Program*

The Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMedSt) is the first of two sequential degrees at Bond University that must be completed in order to be eligible to practise medicine. The Bachelor of Medical Studies is an undergraduate program, located at level 7 of the Australian Qualifications Framework.The Bachelor of Medical Studies is not available as a standalone program.All students must complete both the Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMedSt) and the Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Bond University to be eligible for registration as a medical practitioner in any state or territory in Australia or New Zealand. Both degrees are awarded at the completion of the MD program.The Bachelor of Medical Studies is designed to equip graduates with the foundational knowledge, skills and attributes required to safely and effectively practise medicine in today’s complex healthcare environment.The program is distinguished by its strong educational focus on case-based learning, evidence-based medicine and integrated clinical practice. Due to small class sizes, students learn in a highly personalised environment with state-of-the-art equipment. Students benefit from a variety of teaching and learning systems, including case-based small group tutorials, problem-based learning, practical classes, clinical skills and laboratory training, self-directed learning, web-based and e-learning, interactive seminars and lectures. This contemporary approach to medical education ensures that learning relates directly to patient care and prepares graduates to assume a high level of responsibility.The Bachelor of Medical Studies comprises 8 semesters delivered over 2 years and 8 months and is followed by the Doctor of Medicine comprised of 6 semesters delivered over 2 years.The two sequential degrees are 14 semesters in total and are equivalent to 7 standard academic years in duration. However, with Bond University’s three semesters-per-year timetable and intensive clinical training periods, these two programs are completed in just 4 years and 8 months, with graduates then eligible to apply for hospital internships.

Bachelor of Design in Architecture

The Bachelor of Design in Architecture provides a broad design education in a creative studio-based environment focusing heavily upon learning to design through hands-on making and the use of state-of-the-art digital tools. Learning in a design studio comprises the majority of coursework and is project-based. This features projects focused upon real-world scenarios, collaborating with students and external guests from interdisciplinary fields of expertise to develop solutions for a range of stakeholders and end-users. In addition to practical skills and disciplinary knowledge learned through studio and seminar-based studies in design, communications, technology, history, theory, and professional studies, students acquire ‘soft skills’ in collaboration, teamwork, time management, interpersonal communication, self-critique, and overall, spatial intelligence which is unique to an architectural education. Through the program offerings at the Abedian School of Architecture, issues of pressing international and national concern form the core content of the studio curriculum. Among the most prominent of these are the challenges posed by our contemporary condition globally, one characterised by rapid urbanisation, environmental change, technological emergence, and increasing socioeconomic inequity. The B Des Arch aims to prepare students for globally-relevant employment by immersion into a program that provides broad yet focused experiences in synthesising diverse information in the resolution of complex creative-design challenges. Established as a highly-flexible and student-focused degree program, studentswill study for 2 years full time but may also choose to study part-time. Studies include content from the disciplines of architecture, digital media, construction, urban planning, film, and university electives. Key highlights of the program include an annual all-school “charrette”, several off-campus study tours (including international study opportunities), a monthly international guest-lecture series, study with distinguished guest faculty and Architects-In-Residence, a bi-annual student exhibition and publication, and an internationally and nationally recognised academic staff of scholars and practitioner-teachers. Students willundertake a brief period of work-integrated learning to provide relevant industry experience prior to graduation. Students undertake the Bachelor of Design in Architecture in a unique setting: the national and international award-winning Abedian School of Architecture. Graduates of the Bachelor of Design in Architectureprogram may progress to the Master of Architecture upon application and review of undergraduate performance.However, entry to the Master of Architecture is not automatic.
