Master of Engineering Asset Management

The Master of Engineering Asset Management ensures continuous improvement in the strategic and tactical response of organisations, and their managers, to the management of infrastructure assets. From a strategic framework students progressively address problems in designing and managing assets. This is achieved through a balanced program of subjects in asset management, science and engineering, with emphasis on practical applications. Students learn concepts and techniques by evaluating potential solutions to challenges faced by organisations.This program is available to international students but only by distance education.

Master of Engineering Management

Master of Applied Finance

The Master of Applied Finance is an advanced degree for students who have a recognised Bachelors degree in a Commerce, Engineering, Maths or IT related major, or a UOW Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance. The program comprises seven core subjects, six specialisation subjects and three elective subjects. Students have the option to choose from two specialisations; Investing or Financial Services. The Investing specialisation focuses on investment and portfolio management and the Financial Services specialisation focuses on financial institutions, as well as bank management and lending. Students also have the option to complete a double specialisation in Investing and Financial Services by completion of an additional 6 months of study.

Master of Professional Accounting

The Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) is for graduates who have a degree in a discipline other than accounting. Students gain an appreciation of the theory underpinning accounting, as well as relevant legal and practical issues.The Master of Professional Accounting has been approved by DEEWR as an eligible Masters programme for Student Income Support. Master of Business Analytics

The Master of Business Analytics is designed to prepare graduates with business analytics skills and develop strategies for dealing with massive business data which is increasingly common in business organisations today. Graduates will develop skills and knowledge in business analytics, understanding and applying technologies and tools required to perform descriptive analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics. In this course, graduates will gain the skills and knowledge in order to become leaders in this environment.

Marketing is fundamental to business success! Everyday marketing impacts our lives in hundreds of ways. It can even be argued that everyone needs marketing skills as you have to be able to market yourself to employers when job-seeking!The cutting-edge Master of Marketing involves an exploration of the motives of consumers during the purchase of products and services. Further the course demonstrates how to use this understanding to make more effective marketing decisions. Underpinning many of these marketing decisions is marketing research, which is an important means through which all types of organisations can obtain reliable and valid information about their markets, customers or clients. Creating a marketing strategy enables an organization to concentrate its resources, human and financial on the greatest opportunities to increase sales and achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. You will be taught by marketing academics who are leaders in their field; from a Marketing department acknowledged as Australia’s leading institution (The Australian; The Research Magazine, 26 September 2018).The course consists of twelve subjects: four foundation subjects, five specialisation subjects (please refer to program structure), two elective subjects* chosen from 900 level business subjects offered by the Faculty of Business and Law; and MARK944, which is an industry-based research project. International students may also select GWP 900 International Workplace Practice as an elective subject option. This degree is available on a full-time or part-time basis at the Wollongong and Sydney campuses. To complement a Master of Marketing, students may also like to consider undertaking a second Master by completing an additional study period up to 2 years full time (18 subjects, total of 108 credit points). Students may select a second Master from any of the business specialist Masters degrees offered by the Faculty of Business and Law.Note: * Students are highly recommended to complete Marketing subjects (MARK codes) as electives.

Master of Management

The Master of Management provides an opportunity for practising team leaders or managers to enhance their career opportunities by developing further professional, personal skills and knowledge in key management areas. The structure of this program is designed around key areas in the management discipline.Graduates will develop the knowledge and skills to examine organisational structure and lead and implement organisational change; manage projects and leverage organisational competitive advantage in the changing global marketplace. This degree is available on a full-time or part-time basis at the Wollongong and Sydney campuses.The course comprises a total of twelve subjects. Students must complete four 800 level foundation subjects ( ACCY801, OPS 802, MGNT803, MARK804 ), plus five specialisation subjects at 900 level (please refer to course structure) and MGNT922 Business Research Capstone. Students then select two elective subjects chosen from a range of 900 level business subjects offered by the Faculty of Business and Law. International students may also select GWP 900 International Workplace Practice as an elective subject option.Student successfully completing this degree can achieve credit towards a second Master degree, to take their study period up to 2 years full time (18 subjects, total of 108 credit points). Students may select a second Master from any of the business specialist Masters degrees offered by the Faculty of Business and Law.

It provides the opportunity to acquire contemporary knowledge, skills, and right attitudes and values demanded by modern international business organizations.The course comprises of twelve subjects: four foundation subjects at 800 level ( ACCY801, MGNT803, MARK802, OPS 802 ), five core subjects at 900 level ( MGNT942, MGNT978, MARK957, FIN 921, MGNT984 ), two 900 level elective subjects and MGNT922 Business Research Capstone. International students may also select GWP 900 International Workplace Practice as an elective subject option. This degree is available on a full-time or part-time basis at the Wollongong and Sydney campuses. In addition to business and commerce streams’ candidates, this program has also been a popular option for those who have an undergraduate degree in a non-business area. It is an academically-rigorous, professionally-oriented, and rather flexible masters’ degree program in international business.We were the first in Australian Universities to offer this unique degree. Students successfully completing this degree can achieve credit towards a second Master degree, to take their study period up to 2 years full time (18 subjects, total of 108 credit points). Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship comprises of twelve subjects. Students first complete four foundation subjects at 800 level (ACCY801, MARK804, MGNT803, OPS802); five specialisation subjects at 900 level (please refer to program structure), two elective subjects chosen from 900 level business subjects offered by the Faculty of Business and Law and MGNT922 Business Research Capstone. International students may also select GWP900 International Workplace Practice as an elective subject option. Following the successful completion of foundation business subjects, students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to develop ideas into sustainable business opportunities and to foster innovation in their workplace. Students cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, experiment with design thinking, and learn to use tools and techniques to convert their ideas to reality. Students learn about finance and marketing in relation to entrepreneurship, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to turn their ideas into realistic business opportunities. They learn how leaders promote a culture conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship.Throughout their degree, students hone their business planning and presentation skills to enable them to share their ideas convincingly with investors and other relevant stakeholders. Students complete their degree with an industry-based research project enabling them to apply the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout their degree. Student learning activities include ideation, pitching ideas, sales forecasting and evaluating alternative ways of financing their business ideas. Students compare theory with examples of leading edge organisational practices, engaging in peer learning and critical reflection, followed by a variety of assessments including a business plan and a pitch presentation where students demonstrate that they have achieved the course learning outcomes. The collective learning experience and authentic assessments enable students to attain knowledge and skills to standards commensurate with those of international business education and meeting the requirements of a Level 9 AQF qualification.Students successfully completing this degree can achieve credit towards a second Master degree, to take their study period up to 2 years full time (18 subjects, total of 108 credit points).
