Bachelor of Media Arts

The Bachelor of Film and Television is an innovative degree that puts you at the cutting-edge of film, television and visual effects (VFX) production and theory. You'll develop the technical knowledge and experience needed to enter the exciting world of screen production and content creation. While you study you will develop the skills and contacts you need for a successful career in the creative industries; graduating with a digital portfolio of work and practical industry experience. You also have the opportunity to specialise in visual effects in your third year of study at world-renowned VFX studio, Rising Sun Pictures where you will study alongside industry professionals and mentors. Third year students have the opportunity to connect with the Film Concept Lab, and work alongside We Made A Thing Studios, and other industry professionals, in the production of a short film for festival release. If you finish your degree with a credit or higher grade point average (GPA) you could be eligible for the one-year Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree. Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing

Graduates of this degree (the only one of its kind in South Australia) are qualified to work as journalists and writers in mainstream media and communication fields. An emphasis on professional writing also opens doors to a wide variety of allied professions, such as technical writing, tender presentations, and marketing and communication. Our on-campus facilities, which include a TV studio, radio studio and editing suites, will ensure you graduate career-ready and offer you the opportunity to practise recording news broadcasts, producing, and filming with industry-standard technology. You will then get the chance to practice these skills in a real-world environment when you complete an internship or industry project during your final year. This is a great opportunity for you to develop your skills and build important industry networks. Students who obtain a credit level or higher grade point average (GPA) may be accepted into the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree and, depending on results, may be eligible to proceed to postgraduate research degree study.

Bachelor of Psychological Science (Counselling and Interpersonal Skills), Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management)

With further study you could also become a professionally practicing or research psychologist. To follow this career path you must complete a one-year Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) degree, followed by a two-year Master of Psychology (Clinical) or PhD in Psychology.

Bachelor of Communication and Media

Bachelor of Secondary Education (Honours)

The Bachelor of Secondary Education (Honours) is a four-year professional teaching degree that will equip you with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to thrive as a contemporary educator in secondary school settings. As well as real-world experience, you will be given the opportunity to fine-tune your learning as you focus on two subject areas (Learning Areas) aligned with the Australian Curriculum. Your selected major and sub-major will enable you to teach in both of these subject areas up to year 12. Subject (Learning Areas) areas are: Arts - Visual Arts, or Drama and Creative Arts English* Humanities and Social Sciences - Geography and History Languages* - French, Italian, Japanese, or Languages Education (for proficient speakers only) Mathematics* Science* - Physics, Chemistry, or Biology Technologies - Design and Technology, Food and Textile Technologies, or Digital Technologies (sub-major only) Catholic Studies (sub-major only). Note: You can choose to complete a major and sub-major in the one Learning Area e.g. major Physics and sub-major Chemistry. Bachelor of Science (Honours)

In this degree you’ll do advanced study and introductory research in your chosen science discipline (including Nano- and Biomaterials, Chemistry, Applied Physics, Materials Science, Agricultural and Food Science, Environmental Science, Earth Science, and Ecology). Over the course of the year you will study courses in research methods, principles and ethics, as well as research project preparation. You will complete a research project that involves laboratory work, data collection and analysis, interpretation of your results in the context of current scientific literature, preparation of an Honours thesis and presentation of a final seminar to academics, student peers and relevant industry and government stakeholders. This one-year degree is for students who have completed a Bachelor degree in a relevant field of science, technology, engineering, environmental science or health with a high level of academic achievement. This degree will train you to undertake research and help you to develop higher level scientific and problem-solving skills.
