Bachelor of Medical Science

With a range of elective courses, you can align your studies with your career aspirations. For example, you may choose electives to make up these areas of focus: pharmacology cancer biology reproductive and developmental physiology advanced molecular methods used in laboratory focused research infection and immunity. You will also gain extensive practical experience in our on-campus laboratories, where you can undertake a research project during your final year. This program provides pathway opportunities for students to be eligible for further study in areas like Biomedical Research, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Medical Sonography and Education (subject to meeting entry requirements).

Bachelor of Human Movement

Exercise and physical activity positively affect human life in a variety of ways - biologically, psychologically and socially. In this industry-relevant degree you will develop a holistic understanding of these impacts. You can align your studies with your career aspirations, with the opportunity to select one of two primary streams in Exercise and Sport Science or Health and Physical Education. There is also the opportunity to select secondary study streams in Rehabilitation Sciences, Sports Coaching, Outdoor Education, Health Promotion, Nutrition or Advanced Exercise and Sport Science. Bachelor of Health Science (Public Health)

Public health aims to address social and environmental factors that lead to illness or poor health to prevent disease, prolong life and improve the health and wellbeing of populations and communities. Along with addressing determinants of poor health, you will cultivate skills to promote health and wellbeing in healthy populations to maintain health over the lifespan. The field goes beyond the treatment of individuals to improving the health of populations. As a Public Health Practitioner, you will use diverse approaches including policy development, data analysis and reporting, media and advocacy, public events and community-based education and interventions to address health concerns and promote health and wellbeing within communities. You will also have a focus on equity in access to health programs and services for priority population groups such as the homeless, Aboriginal people and migrants. Students will benefit from a curriculum aligned to the Australian Public Health Competency Framework and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Curriculum Framework. This will provide you with transferable skills that can be applied across the growing health industry at all levels of government as well as in a variety of organisations such as the Royal Society for the Blind, the Heart Foundation, and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI). Bachelor of Human Movement, Bachelor of Nutrition and Food Sciences

Bachelor of Human Movement, Bachelor of Psychological Science (Counselling and Interpersonal Skills)

This unique double degree, which is the only one of its kind in South Australia, will provide you with expertise in the areas of human movement, psychology, counselling and interpersonal skills. With a strong practical and multi-disciplinary industry focus, you will graduate with a specialised set of skills to meet emerging market needs. The human movement component will allow you to develop a holistic understanding of the impact that exercise and physical activity has on the biological, psychological and social parameters of human life. The psychology component provides a balance of courses in psychology theory and counselling – for graduates this means you will enter the workforce with a strong understanding of psychology, as well as the analytical, communication and interpersonal skills needed to work with individuals, groups and communities. Practical learning constitutes a large focus of this degree, enhancing the work-readiness of graduates – the value of this study component has been recognised nationally in the form of an award from the Australian Federal Government Office of Teaching and Learning. The double degree combination is well-suited to those seeking to become secondary teachers. Continue your studies with a Master of Teaching, and you will be eligible to teach up to year 12 Health and Physical Education and Psychology as well as Junior Science and be qualified for school counsellor roles. If you finish your degree with a credit or higher grade point average (GPA) you could also be eligible for the one-year Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) – the pathway to employment as a practicing sport psychologist (additional requirements must also be met). Bachelor of Construction Management

Modern construction is a complex, highly-organised commercial industry and it is constantly evolving. New challenges in planning, design, construction and commissioning are arising all the time. Buildings are becoming bigger and more technically complex than ever before. These challenges mean that the construction industry is a dynamic and exciting environment to work in. In this degree you will develop the knowledge and skills to work professionally in the low rise residential and light commercial buildings sector of the construction industry. If you successfully complete this degree, you can enter directly into the fourth year of the Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours). We develop our degrees with input from industry and courses are taught by academics with strong industry associations. Graduate career-ready by completing the UniSA STEM Professional Practice Program and gain at least 450 hours of skills and competencies through a range of engagement activities such as placements, internships, guest lectures, industry panels, site visits, networking and events.

Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Bachelor of Arts (History and Global Politics)

The expertise you gain in your arts major, in addition to your law studies, will further improve your employment prospects. Bachelor of Laws (Honours)
