Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, Bachelor of Psychological Science (Counselling and Interpersonal Skills)

This unique double degree is the only one of its kind in South Australia and will develop your expertise in exercise and sport science, psychology, counselling, and behavioural research methodology. With a strong practical and multi-disciplinary industry focus, you will graduate with a specialised set of skills to meet emerging market needs. The exercise and sport science component to design, deliver and assess exercise and physical activity programs to improve the health and wellbeing of clients, their performance, or to prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes and arthritis. The psychology component provides a balance of courses in psychology theory and counselling, meaning you will enter the workforce with the analytical, communication and interpersonal skills needed to work with individuals, groups and communities. If you finish your degree with a credit or higher grade point average (GPA) you could also be eligible for the one-year Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). Completion of this honours degree can lead to employment as a practicing psychologist (additional requirements must also be met). Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Radiation Therapy)

This is the only degree of its kind in South Australia, preparing you for a rewarding career in the highly specialised field of radiation therapy. Radiation therapists work alongside radiation oncologists and medical physicists to plan and deliver radiation treatment, primarily to cancer patients. Using dedicated radiotherapy treatment planning software, radiation therapists model radiation doses and operate radiation equipment to accurately deliver high energy ionising radiation treatments. As a radiation therapy student, you will learn in state-of-the-art on-campus facilities, including our Virtual Environment Radiotherapy Training (VERT) suite, where you will gain valuable hands-on experience. Further practical experience is gained during field placements. You’ll complete more than 1,750 hours of clinical placements, complemented by an in-depth theoretical component taught by our award-winning teachers. With a suite of state-of-the-art radiation therapy technology located on-campus, it's easy to see why this degree is so highly regarded both nationally and internationally. Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science

South Australia's only Pharmaceutical Science degree will prepare you to work in the discovery, development, formulation, approval, evaluation and marketing of medicines. This flexible degree can be tailored to suit your interests and career ambitions, where you can focus on: drug discovery and development manufacturing and production clinical trials regulatory affairs pharmaceutical sales and marketing. You will also develop advanced communication skills when you complete a compulsory industry project or placement relating to your area of interest. Depending on your academic achievement throughout the degree you may also be accepted into an honours program. The opportunities are endless, with the ability to gain valuable international industry experience through study tours or overseas placements. You may also have the opportunity to enter into the only double degree in Australia of its kind – a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science, Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) which you can complete with just two extra years of study. Bachelor of Podiatry

With the only degree of its kind in South Australia, you will train as a podiatrist to diagnose and treat disorders of the foot and lower limb. You will develop an advanced understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of podiatry, as well as the physical, chemical and social sciences relevant to working in healthcare. There is a major focus on practical skills, and you will get the opportunity to practice these skills in our contemporary on-campus Podiatry Clinics, where you will work under the supervision and guidance of registered practicing podiatrists. Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Leadership

As the only degree of its kind in SA, the Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Leadership combines foundational environmental science and outdoor leadership concepts to equip future Outdoor Education professionals with a unique set of skills and knowledge. This industry-relevant degree provides the foundational skills and knowledge for a rewarding career in nature-based tourism, environmental interpretation, education, adventure therapy or adventure-based leadership. Develop the reflective, evaluative and critical-thinking skills required to implement and lead culturally aware and environmentally sustainable outdoor experiences. You will complete more than 400 hours of practical experience working directly with industry, including outdoor fieldwork, peer leadership and experiential learning. Align your studies with your interests, with the opportunity to study a major in ecosystem sciences or select courses in the areas of community engagement and sustainability, management, counselling and interpersonal skills, Aboriginal cultures and biology for education.

Bachelor of Nursing (Mount Gambier)

Our state-of-the-art facilities include authentic hospital wards, clinical units and community areas. This simulated hospital environment, known as the Horizon Hospital and Health Service (HHHS), is led by practicing registered nurses and midwives (clinicians), and is the only one of its kind in South Australia. You will then have the opportunity to further develop these skills when you embark on real-world clinical placements across metropolitan, regional and rural hospitals and health services under the supervision of registered nurses. Bachelor of Midwifery (Mount Gambier)

Study midwifery online and complete your intensive clinical workshops at UniSA’s state-of-the-art Mount Gambier Learning Centre. This degree will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge needed to provide care, support and advice to women during pregnancy, labour, birth and postnatally. There is a strong focus on theory and practical experience, and you will do much of your learning in our unique clinician led, authentic simulated hospital and health service on campus. This simulated hospital environment, known as the Horizon Hospital and Health Service (HHHS) – the only one of its kind in South Australia. You will learn in midwifery facilities modelled on the local hospital in Mount Gambier, providing you with excellent learning opportunities. You will then have the opportunity to further develop these skills when you embark on real-world clinical placements across metropolitan, regional and rural hospitals and health services. Under the supervision of registered midwives, you will follow women during pregnancy and birth journeys. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to study a portion of your degree internationally, with an overseas placement during your third year of study.
