Bachelor of Global Indigenous Studies / Bachelor of Laws (Honours)

The Bachelor of Global Indigenous Studies program is an interdisciplinary program that studies the history and core learning principles of the discipline of Indigenous Studies. It also explores how critical and creative thinking occurs within Indigenous Studies. The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree is offered as a five year full-time program offered in combination with other degree programs including the Bachelor of Global Indigenous Studies. The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree meets the academic requirements needed to gain admission to the practice of law in New South Wales. As well as providing the academic basis for admission to legal practice, law is now regarded as a useful general education, fostering understanding of how society functions, and developing skills of analytical and logical reasoning. During the first three years, combined degree students enrol in the courses offered by the Faculty of Business and Law as part of the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LLB (Hons)), as well as courses within the Bachelor of Global Indigenous Students. During the final two years they enrol in LAWS courses only. Bachelor of Development Studies/ Bachelor of Global Indigenous Studies

The need for environmentally sustainable and equitable development is one of the most serious issues facing the contemporary world. The Bachelor of Development Studies/Bachelor of Global Indigenous Studies provides opportunities to study the Indigenous identity, culture and knowledges, as well as the causes and consequences of unequal development, and assess policy options for a more equitable and sustainable future. Drawing upon the expertise of the Faculty of Science and The Wollotuka Institute (widely regarded as a national leader in Indigenous education), the Bachelor of Development Studies/Bachelor of Global Indigenous Studies offers students an interdisciplinary understanding of uneven development, decolonisation, identity cultures, and representation, that will enable students to be active global citizens ready to create innovative solutions to pressing issues in local, regional, national and international contexts.
Bachelor of Environmental Science and Management / Bachelor of Business

Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Laws (Honours)

Within this combined degree program, students study a combination of Arts and Law courses over a period of five years full-time. On completion of the first three years students will have completed all the courses required for the Bachelor of Arts degree. In the final two years of the combined degree program students complete the requirements of the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and may enrol in these two years on a less than full time basis.Students completing this combined degree meet the requirements to practise law in NSW, and acquire skills and knowledge through the Arts studies they have chosen. You can choose majors/minors in the following course areas (subject to change):Students wishing to practise law must also complete postgraduate professional training approved by the Legal Profession Admission Board. Alternatively, students completing this degree may apply for entry to the Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Diploma of Legal Practice Program - see separate handbook entry - which allows immediate admission to legal practice on graduation.Commencement in this program is only available in Semester 1.
Bachelor of Development Studies / Bachelor of Laws (Honours)

The Bachelor of Development Studies/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program provides opportunities to study the causes and consequences of unequal development and assess policy options for a more equitable and sustainable future, while studying the complementary skills in Law. The Bachelor of Development Studies comprises 4 interdisciplinary majors, Cultures and Citizenship, Environmental Sustainability, Globalisation and Economic Development and Urban and Regional Development. These majors are comprised mostly of courses from the disciplines of Aboriginal Studies, Economics, Environmental Studies, Geography, Politics and Sociology and Anthropology (as is reflected in the core and program directed in Development Studies). Students in the combined program would be able to add to this a study of Law, commencing in Year 1, and becoming the focus of study in years 4 and 5.
Bachelor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship / Bachelor of Laws (Honours)

The Bachelor of Innovation and Entrepeneurship/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is a 400 unit Bachelor (Honours) degree. The Bachelor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship prepares students with the academic knowledge and practical experience needed to become highly competitive in rapidly changing regional, national and global economies and communities. Embedding business, innovation and entrepreneurial knowledge into a combined degree program with practical experiences gives students a substantial edge when applying for jobs in both the public and private sectors.The Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is strongly complementary with its focus on real-world skills. Students will receive in-depth training in legal research techniques, and be equipped with advanced skills suitable for high-level legal research work or further academic study. Given the extensive regulation that applies to businesses and corporations in general, general, and to innovative business environments in particular, a law degree is a highly valued and useful asset within the business sector.

Students complete two degree awards over four years of full time study (or part time equivalent).The flexibility of this combined degree allows students to pursue those areas that present the best challenges, the most interest and the greatest enjoyment while studying. Students will have the opportunity to acquire the skills of analysis, research and logic: the skills which form the basis for any successful career as well as acquiring specialised skills in music and preparing students for performance to a professional standard.
