Bachelor of Building Design

As a student in the new Bachelor of Building Design, you’ll use innovative processes and practices of an architectural design studio to solve problems creatively, and determine solutions for a better future. Modern computer labs, design studios, site visits and interaction with industry practitioners will take you into 'real life' situations with industry briefs. In this three-year Bachelor of Building Design degree, you will study and develop skills in: building design (architectural) building legislation and auditing building codes environmentally sustainable construction techniques and materials building services professional practice and communication. These skills will prepare you as a confident and capable building industry professional. You will also take classes alongside students from building design, construction management, building surveying and engineering programs. By studying in multidisciplinary teams in a studio-based learning environment you will work with allied professions in the building industry right from the beginning of your studies.

Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Bachelor of Psychology (Honours)

This six-year double degree gives you the flexibility to combine a law qualification with psychology. You’ll gain a global and social justice perspective and an understanding of human behaviour, motivation, relationships, communication and cognitive processes. You’ll examine how the mind works alongside developing broad legal knowledge and analytical skills. Honours in Law and Psychology will further enhance your core understanding of the psychology and legal fields, and help ensure you are prepared for a career in a variety of work settings. This course positions you well for jobs where there is an interaction between the law, psychology and mental health. You’ll also be on the pathway to work as a lawyer or psychologist. We are the only university in Victoria that offers the Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/ Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) as a double degree.

Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Bachelor of Business

Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Bachelor of Arts

This course is designed for students of the Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Arts who have shown strong academic ability in law. During this course you’ll study the compulsory academic requirements to practise law, as well as areas of the law which interest you. We make sure you’re work-ready through authentic experiences with public-sector authorities such as the Magistrates’ Courts, and private law firms. When you graduate you'll have the academic requirements in law required to practise law; on completion of the Practical Legal Training requirements you can apply to be admitted to practise law in Australia. You'll also have the skill, knowledge and professional acumen across a range of Arts specialisations, which will enable you to choose from professions outside of the legal sector, including roles in corporate, government, community and non-government organisations. An honours degree in law demonstrates high academic achievement, and can be completed in the same timeframe as a Bachelor of Law/Bachelor of Arts.

Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (Graduate Entry)

By studying a range of business specialisations, you’ll gain a thorough understanding of the tactics, processes and issues related to conducting business – within Australia and internationally. You’ll also develop sought-after professional skills within law, such as: advocacy ethical judgement communication legal research and writing interviewing and negotiation. This flexible course offers diverse opportunities for industry-based learning placements. On graduation and once you’ve completed practical legal training, you’ll meet the academic requirements, as required by the Victorian Legal Admissions Board (external link) , to practise law.

Bachelor of Legal Services
Victoria University
Our Bachelor of Legal Services teaches sought-after skills in legal research, legal-document preparation, and interviewing. It’s suited to VCE graduates and mature applicants with relevant work experience. You’ll learn how legislation is interpreted and applied in different areas, including criminal, family, property and corporations law. You’ll also develop highly valued skills in professional conduct, critical thinking, teamwork and communication. Our partnerships with the legal community ensure you develop real-world experience and skills. This qualification prepares you for a career in the legal services industry, but it does not enable you to practise law.

Bachelor of Laws/ Bachelor of Criminology
Victoria University
Our Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Criminology will give you broad knowledge of the causes and consequences of crime. You'll gain expertise in criminal investigation, sentencing, and security, at national and international levels. You will also develop practical skills in investigating and providing strategic advice in relation to crime and crime management. The Bachelor of Laws satisfies the academic requirements to become an Australian Lawyer, as required by the Victorian Legal Admissions Board (VLAB). In order to become an Australian Lawyer, you'll also need to complete Practical Legal Training or an equivalent.
