Our Bachelor of Science (Osteopathy), plus Master of Health Science (Osteopathy) lead to professional registration as an osteopath. Osteopathic treatments include: soft-tissue techniques joint manipulation joint mobilisation exercise rehabilitation general healthcare advice. Gain the skills, knowledge and techniques to treat patients in out-of-hospital care. You'll graduate from the Bachelor of Paramedicine able to manage all aspects of the needs of paramedic patients (physical, psychological, social). This course will prepare you to be sensitive to issues in diverse communities and treat patients accordingly. Our paramedicine degree is held in very high regard in the industry for its hands-on approach. Studying our Bachelor of Midwifery/Bachelor of Nursing you’ll learn the practical skills for each profession – and the healthcare knowledge common to both. We make sure you’re job-ready when you graduate. We have workspaces and technology to simulate patient care in a safe environment. You’ll also undertake many weeks’ clinical practice, including care for individual women through pregnancy, childbirth, and post-birth. It integrates biomedical science and exercise science into a compelling new area of study in the environments of physical activity, sport, and health research covering: the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology biochemistry, biomechanics and kinesiology psychology how the structure and function of the body is influenced by exercise  how it is impacted by disease. You will learn to apply theoretical knowledge and analytical techniques to a range of practical and clinical scenarios including learning in industry, workplace and community settings. You will also gain experience and develop a solid foundation in designing research methodologies, and performing analytical research by participating in active research as a team member. Victoria University is equipped with new medical research facilities at Sunshine Hospital, and exercise and sport science facilities at our Footscray Park campus. The course is closely linked with: The University’s Institute for Health and Sport (IHES) Collaborative Research Network in partnership with the University of Melbourne and the Australian Institute of Musculoskeletal Science (external link) (AIMSS). This course provides a framework for the acquisition of further specialist knowledge and skills, enabling graduates to successfully enter professional settings within the health sector, including industry and research or pursue post-graduate studies in allied health courses.

This course helps you develop a comprehensive foundation knowledge in all areas of dermal science. You will learn the skills to perform safe and effective dermal treatments. Dermal procedures covered include: laser and light based treatments resurfacing procedures lymphatic procedures. You will also learn how to provide pre and post-operative care for clients who have undergone plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic procedures. During the course you will undertake clinical training in a variety of settings. You will learn to identify, evaluate and manage the physical, psychological and social needs of clients undergoing dermal assessment and treatment for conditions such as: wound healing scarring pre/post-operative skin care fluid retention inflammatory conditions skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and rosacea uneven skin tone and pigmentation ageing or sun damaged skin removal of excess hair, tattoos, skin tags and leg veins. The Dermal Sciences degree also provides a seamless transition from Vocational Education (TAFE) into the Higher Education qualification. It gives qualified beauty therapists the opportunity to establish and develop knowledge and skills in advanced dermal therapy treatments, and receive additional training such as para-medical dermal care.
