Bachelor of Justice Studies with Honours

Justice Studies Honours will equip you to make a real contribution to contemporary global challenges by giving you an awareness of key aspects of social justice, human rights, international development and peace studies.If you want to pursue a career in the criminal justice system, honours offers advanced knowledge about crime and justice on both a domestic and international scale, and examines the human rights framework in both a local and global context. You will gain advanced knowledge of the implications of race, disability, gender, youth, and displacement in both the criminal justice and conflict zones settings.If you are planning a career in the Department of Defence, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Australian Federal Police, AusAid, the United Nations and numerous other Australian and international agencies, honours will allow you to specialise your expertise to aim for the career of your choice.If you want to pursue an academic pathway, honours provides the opportunity to develop general attitudinal skills relating to social justice, critical awareness, cognitive skills, research methodology, project design and writing skills that will prepare you for a higher research degree.

Bachelor of Arts with Professional Honours (Specialisation)

The one-year Bachelor of Arts with Professional Honours (Specialisation) degree allows students who have a completed undergraduate degree to undertake further study to develop a body of knowledge in a specific context as further preparation to undertake professional work and/or as a pathway for further learning.Students choose one of three specialisations: Investigative Practice, Public Sector Leadership and Management, and Prosecution Practice.Limited specialisations are available fully off-campus, other specialisations have units available both on and off-campus for study one year full-time or three years part-time.Graduates of the degree will have developed advanced knowledge of the underlying principles and concepts in the specialisation in which they enrol, and the ability to apply research principles and methods in their practice.

Our degree is designed to prepare you for your engineering career with the expertise to pursue one of three maritime specialisations:Naval Architecture provides student with specialist knowledge and technical skills to design and construct vessels within the shipping, high-speed, offshore, defense, underwater and recreational industries;Ocean Engineering provides student with specialist knowledge and technical skills to design offshore structures, sub-sea and coastal installations for sustainable development in the maritime environment;Marine and Offshore Engineering provides student with specialist knowledge and technical skills in design, deployment, commissioning and management of mechanical and mechanical-electrical systems associated with the shipping, marine and offshore oil and gas industries.This 5-year course allows you to combine your studies with between 15 and 18 months of practical experience in your chosen specialisation.
