Learn through experience, including on-site learning, industry encounters, and critical reflections on your own tourist experiences.Tasmania will be used as a living laboratory for this course; the 7 UNESCO World Heritage listed properties within the island state, plus signature Tasmanian businesses such as Mona will be used as case studies for learning.You will also develop skills to manage the opportunities, complexity and sensitivities that arise when culture, environmental values and creativity intersect with business development and be equipped with entrepreneurial and leadership tools, frameworks and an attitude to work in a fast changing and competitive industry, disrupted constantly by technology and an ever-changing market.

An ageing population and rising levels of depression and anxiety in youth, the elderly, and people living in rural areas are significant challenges for Tasmania, Australia and internationally. Research is demonstrating ways in which music, visual arts, theatre and other creative arts can contribute to addressing these challenges.The Diploma of Creative Arts and Health offers you an interdisciplinary study experience that is unique. You will gain knowledge of innovative uses of creative arts in a range of community and health-care settings, while developing an understanding of the effects of the arts on brain and body in the social and cultural context. Diploma of Fine Arts

However, when Government guidelines change, on-campus studies will be reintroduced.Within this degree, you will develop skills in self-expression and creative problem solving to generate art work. You will be encouraged to participate in contemporary culture, engaging directly with Tasmania’s internationally acclaimed arts culture through our ongoing partnerships with festivals and arts institutions across the state. You will be provided with opportunities to actively contribute to the cultural life of our society and interact with both Australian and international visiting artists.You will gain an awareness of your own creative practice and the role and function of visual art and design within contemporary culture. You can choose from a range of selected units, which will provide a foundation for further study in fine art and/or enable you to encounter and develop skills in diverse art disciplines.

However, when Government guidelines change, on-campus studies will be reintroduced.The Diploma of Arts provides you with opportunities to interpret human culture and behaviour from different perspectives and periods; to explore today’s big questions and learn how to support the social and economic development of the human race; and/or to be immersed in creativity, performance and innovation.The award is designed to allow you to choose your path: it can be the first year of your Bachelor of Arts study, or you may enrol in this degree to pursue your passion and undertake one of the majors in the BA, or if you decide you would like to extend your curiosity and try units from a number of disciplines. The Diploma of Arts gives you the flexibility to choose from subjects to build your knowledge and diversify your skills from a wide range of over twenty possible majors and minors in the Bachelor of Arts as well as many individual elective study options.
