The Diploma of Digital Media Technologies program design is industry-driven and includes industry standard software and production protocols. Graduates will be multi-skilled digital professionals, with expansive career possibilities spanning from user experience design to art direction, animation and emerging fields of virtual reality and augmented reality.The program provides you with a broad understanding of the design, technical, and management skills required to work in the fields of interactive and digital media design. You will explore web and interactive design, 3D and 2D imaging and animation, and work on small collaborative and individual projects. You will develop a broad range of software skills with a focus on creativity and conceptual development. The program is designed to prepare you for transition into employment in the interactive/screen content production industries as work ready individuals, and/or further education.Areas of study in the Diploma of Digital Media Technologies include:Digital imaging and graphic design 2D and 3D animation design Motion design, compositing and visual effects Interactive, web and games design in theory and practice Cinema language in theory and practice Concept development and previsualisation Sound Design Virtual Reality Augmented RealityThis program will build skills and knowledge in the key areas of concept development, interactive pre-production, production and post-production for a broad variety of digital media outcomes. You will be involved in both the hands-on technical preparation and the critical and creative development of their ideas and outcomes. The software you will be exposed to ensures knowledge of the latest digital technologies whilst their learning will involve a broad range of experiences and teaching modes.Upon successful completion of this program you will be prepared to adapt to varied interactive and digital media industry environments and opportunities available locally and overseas. Additionally, students will be eligible to undertake further studies in the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Interactive Media).

Through your studies in the Diploma of Product Design you will gain the knowledge and skills needed to create designs for consumer products, experiences and systems. You will present your ideas through a combination of skills in visual and verbal communication, 3D models and computer software.Starting from a project brief, you’ll learn traditional product development techniques while using the latest industry tools and practices to develop solutions to design problems. You’ll be guided through the process of developing new consumer products (such as electrical enclosure, toys or kitchenware) resolving practical, manufacturing and sustainability issues.Design projects can involve you with local and international companies. Students have recently designed prototypes made in China and Malaysia.As a graduate you can specialise in many diverse areas of product development. Areas include computer-aided design, product illustration, CAD drafting, product styling, home wares, model making, furniture and lighting, toy design, eco design, special effects for film and television or as a liaison between engineering and production. As a product designer you'll work as part of a design or manufacturing team. Many designers also undertake freelance work.

The objective of the Diploma in Music Industry (Sound Production) is to develop your audio production skills for application in industries such as broadcast media and digital media production, television and film audio post production, live sound reinforcement / event staging, and music production.Early in the program you are introduced to the audio theory required to operate professional audio equipment. Essential knowledge about signal flow, digital audio theory and acoustics prepares you to use studio equipment. Mid way through the program you begin engaging in practical applications of this knowledge, in the recording studio, and in audio workstation ‘Labs’.The focus of the program is to build a strong skill base and understanding in the recording, mixing and live production of audio. The Diploma of Accounting is designed for people seeking work in all fields of industry and commerce like financial institutions, retail stores and other businesses.The primary pathway from this qualification is employment in accounting job roles with duties such as:setting up and operating a computerised accounting system (MYOB) maintaining internal control systems preparing financial reports for corporate and non-corporate entities preparing tax returns for individuals reporting on business performance carrying out business activity and instalment activity statement tasks establishing and maintaining a payroll system developing business plans and preparing budgets and accounting reports for management.The program can also provide training if students are already working in the accounting industry but have limited experience, allowing them to broaden their knowledge and career prospects and to improve their chances to further studies to advanced diploma or degree level if desired.This qualification reflects professional accounting job roles in financial services and other related industries. Individuals in these roles apply solutions in a range of often complex problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They apply initiative to plan, co-ordinate and evaluate their own work and guidance to others within defined guidelines.The program does not require previous work or study experience in this discipline area. However, with students undertaking this program not being required to complete a Certificate IV qualification in this stream, it has been necessary to embed underpinning and foundation skills and knowledge within the Diploma program as follows:subsidiary accounts and ledgers financial statements for non-reporting entities operational budgets spreadsheets computerised accounting systems professional practice in financial services (including ethics)This qualification includes one unit that constitutes an approved Tax Practitioner Board (TPB) course in Australian taxation law. It also includes one unit that constitutes an approved Tax Practitioner Board (TPB) course in Australian commercial law, and these units may contribute towards meeting the academic requirements for registration as a Tax Agent.
