Science (Forensic and Analytical Science Pathway)

The Bachelor of Science (Forensic and Analytical Science Pathway) is offered as part of the Bachelor of Science suite and requires one year of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). The Pathway is offered by the College of Science and Engineering. The Bachelor of Science requires three years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time) and the honours program an additional year (or equivalent part-time). The course is offered by the College of Science and Engineering. The course is structured around coherent programs of study from First Year to Third Year, leading to a recognised major in a science discipline. Admission to an honours program may be offered to a student who meets certain academic criteria and subject to the College being able to provide appropriate resources and staff to supervise the program of study.Students who commenced prior to 2017 should refer to the previous course rule.

Bachelor of Psychological Science Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours)The Bachelor of Psychological Science degree programs are offered co-jointly by Department of Psychology at HELP University (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) and the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work at Flinders University, and are delivered entirely in Malaysia.The program has been accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) whereby graduates will obtain a degree that is recognised in Australia, see https://www.psychologycouncil.org.au/Accordingly, suitably qualified graduates of the BPsychSc (Hons) will be able to apply for entry to a variety of postgraduate degrees in Australia such as Masters and Doctoral programmes in clinical psychology.Bachelor of Psychological ScienceCourse aimsThe aims of this course are to develop knowledge of the factors influencing human behaviour and experience, and to provide skills for the application of this knowledge to issues in the real world. Graduates will develop core knowledge in psychological theory and research to prepare them for possible entry into an Honours program in psychology.The course provides comprehensive knowledge of such fields as learning, motivation, personality, emotion, development across the lifespan, social and cultural influences, biological influences, and mental health. Also integral to the course is the development of critical thinking and research skills, and an understanding of the ethical responsibilities of researchers and psychology clinicians.Learning outcomesStudents graduating with a Bachelor of Psychological Science should be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes:

Psychological Studies

The Bachelor of Psychological Studies is a three-year, 108 unit program for which 72 units of credit is granted on the basis of completion of an approved prior bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification. Graduates entering the program must complete one year of full-time study, or part-time equivalent. It is offered by the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work in internal mode only. The Bachelor of Psychological Studies provides the equivalent of a major in Psychology for graduates who hold a degree in another discipline. It is also suitable for graduates who have a psychology major that is not accredited in Australia. Those who completed a psychology major in Australia at least three years ago and who wish to update their psychology qualification should contact the College Office to discuss their options.

The Bachelor of Psychological Science requires three years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). The course is offered by the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work, and is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. The course provides a major in psychology, which students can combine with a minor or electives studies from areas of their choice, or a second major.Graduates are eligible to apply for entry to the honours program in Psychology, which is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. Following application, enrolment in the honours program may be offered to a student who meets certain academic criteria and subject to the College being able to provide appropriate resources and staff to supervise the program of study.Graduates who have completed a second major are also eligible to apply for entry to the honours program in the other discipline studied.

The Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics requires four years of full-time study. The course is offered by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.An honours degree can be completed in four years by undertaking additional units, including a research project at honours level, in Year four.
