The Master of Nurse Practitioner is intended for registered nurses with substantial experience in a specialty area who are looking to extend this experience and become experts in their field. The course prepares students for advanced practice nursing as a nurse practitioner with expert clinical performance, critical decision-making and leadership skills.This course provides sustainable, high-quality education, developed and delivered in collaboration with contemporary experts in the field. Each of the 12 subjects comprises a mix of theory, evidence-based and clinical practice, to be completed in part-time mode. Subjects include a range of current healthcare contexts (including digital health, Indigenous health and primary health care) so students can practise safely and proficiently to provide person-centred, holistic health care and contribute to quality outcomes for those in their care. Course requirements include 300 supernumerary clinical hours (i.e. supervised practice outside the student's usual rostered hours) for consolidation and extension of learning.The Master of Nurse Practitioner has strong links to industry and is firmly grounded in contemporary healthcare practice.
