The Master of Human Resource Management focuses on developing expertise in contemporary human resource management issues. The course is for current managers who are seeking to extend their HR knowledge and improve skills necessary to engage in decision-making at senior levels within an organisation.The Master of Human Resource Management focuses on developing a greater understanding of human resource management, employment relations and organisational behaviour and the future of work. It provides participants with a thorough understanding of the business issues and HRM challenges and equips participants with the skills necessary to add value to an organisation.

The Master of Event Management provides a significant overview of the events industry and is designed to develop high-level professional skills and knowledge sufficient to equip students for management positions in the broad and multifaceted event industry. With this in mind, the program includes subjects that seek to develop an understanding of event creation, planning, delivery, marketing and evaluation processes and practices for various forms of events in both the Australian and international contexts.This course aims to produce graduates with professional competence in the specialist area of event management. In addition, high-level general management competencies needed to develop or manage complex organisations involved in the production of public, corporate or other event types are developed.The course has a strong focus on professional practice, including two innovative capstone subjects – Industry Research Capstone or Internship Experience Capstone – which allow students to work on or with contemporary industry issues and opportunities.

The Master of Engineering Management (MEM) is an opportunity for engineers, technical specialists and non-technical professionals to build and stretch their managerial skills and integrate their business and technical knowledge.The MEM has been specifically designed to emphasise the interface between engineering, technology and management. The integration of carefully tailored coursework and an independent project delivers graduates who understand the professional, societal and environmental context and have developed a range of management and engineering capabilities to respond to it.

This course provides an opportunity at master's level for professional engineers to explore specific aspects of engineering in depth by undertaking a substantial research study in their field of specialisation. Students undertake at least 48 credit points of coursework and a research project of 24, 36, or 48 credit points under the supervision of a member of academic staff.The course follows an integrated approach to professional practice through professional engineering subjects, subjects relating to the chosen major, an independent research project in at least one field of engineering, and a set of electives.This course is designed to create a pathway for eligible students into higher degree by research (HDR) programs such as the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Upon completion of this course, students seeking admission to an HDR program are required to follow the prescribed admission process.

This course provides an opportunity at master's level for professional engineers to extend in depth and breadth the knowledge and skills gained in their undergraduate studies. The course is an extension of the traditional Master of Engineering (C04271) in that it also includes a sub-major in one of the fields offered as majors.The course follows an integrated approach to professional practice through professional engineering subjects, subjects relating to the major and sub-major, an independent project in at least one field of engineering, and a set of electives. Students who wish to undertake a more substantial research project have the opportunity to transfer to the Master of Engineering (Advanced) (C04278).This course allows students to choose a program of study that deepens the body of knowledge acquired in their first degree as well as expands knowledge boundaries into policy and engineering management areas. It also provides an opportunity to broaden knowledge in another field through a sub-major, giving an added advantage to students who seek career options in multidisciplinary areas.

This course has been developed by the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and the UTS Business School to provide professional engineers with the advantages of a generalist Master of Business Administration alongside a focused program in engineering management. The course follows an integrated approach to professional practice through engineering management/professional engineering subjects, business administration subjects, and an independent project in engineering management.The program allows students to complete the Master of Engineering Management and Master of Business Administration in two years of full-time study.

This course is designed to enable engineers and other technical specialists to take a leadership role in the field of environmental engineering and management. The course deals with the broad aspects of environmental management relevant to practising professionals in engineering science, planning, architecture, law, surveying, health and building. Engineers, scientists, town planners and other professionals working in this field have a compelling duty to ensure that the adverse effects of development on the total environment are minimised.The duration of the course is one-and-a-half years; however, applicants with a recognised bachelor's degree in engineering or the natural and physical sciences are eligible for recognition of prior learning of up to four subjects and are thus able to complete the course in one year on a full-time basis.The course combines a set of key subjects that contain information on the nature of environmental problems together with engineering techniques for their solution. This is supplemented by management and policy subjects to empower the engineer, or technical specialist, to lead multidisciplinary teams working in the field of environmental engineering and management.The course follows an integrated approach to professional practice through professional engineering subjects, subjects relating to environmental engineering management, an independent project, and a set of electives.
