The Master of International Development at USC offers an exciting, practice-focused qualification for working in the international aid sector. After studying your compulsory courses, you have the chance to individually tailor your second year to an area of application and practice that interests you. Graduates from this program are equipped to obtain employment in development with international organisations including the United Nations, UNESCO, the FAO, the World Bank, non-government organisations (NGO's), development and consultancy corporations, and donor agencies.

The Postgraduate Qualifying Pathway is for International students who require (or would benefit from) additional undergraduate study in English before entry to a USC postgraduate coursework qualification.

The Master of Urban Development and Design applies design thinking in an urban context, to give you the skills to help shape everything from city-wide transport to new suburban developments, to university campuses and hospitals, shopping centres and more. The MD-Ochsner is a postgraduate medical program offered in partnership with Ochsner Health System. This program provides students with a broad range of knowledge, skills and resources to practise effectively as a clinical pharmacy practitioner involved in the quality use of medicines and pharmaceutical care. These skills include the capacity to individualise, review and monitor a patient's medication regimen; demonstrate effective communication skills in clinical and non-clinical scenarios; critically appraise medical and pharmaceutical literature, as well as to recognise and describe social issues relating to medicine use. In addition pharmacists will gain insight into contemporary management strategies for pharmacy and health care as well as explore research and evaluation of pharmacy services and practice. Regular updates of the program integrate emerging clinical evidence and current controversies. A major strength of the program is the emphasis on developing clinical practice and the integration of evidence based medicine.

The Master of Quantitative Biology is the first of its kind in Australia. It integrates theory and practice through foundational courses in programming in biology and intensive core courses that focus on stochastic modelling, optimisation and computational methods in biology. Investigate how nature works and learn to manage and organise complex data sets, perform complex statistical analyses, model natural processes and create testable theories in the context of model and non-model biological systems. Gain coding skills essential for gathering, handling, analysing and visualising biological data, and master software including Unix/Linux, Python and R. You will learn to navigate High Performance Computer platforms and spatial ecology tools, such as remote sensing. This program is taught in an intensive mode, so you can complete the equivalent of two years' study in just 12 to 18 months. Graduate equipped to start advanced training in multiple areas of biology, work directly with industry and government, or create new enterprises for complex data analyses.

Students can develop an understanding of specialised fields in which they have minimal previous knowledge. Applicants looking to extend their knowledge may be eligible for the 24 unit Master of Science program.
