Molecular Imaging Technology

Molecular imaging is a form of biomedical imaging, which is rapidly growing in importance in the applied life sciences, and contributes in the advancement of biomedicines. The Master of Molecular Imaging Technology aims at developing international leaders in molecular imaging through this unique program taught by molecular imaging experts supported by state-of-the-art facilities. In this program students will have the opportunity to undertake courses and engage with a molecular imaging research project. This program suits people with background in chemistry, biology, physics, computer science, engineering, radiography and nuclear medicine technology who wish to gain an in-depth knowledge in molecular imaging.

Development Economics/Economics and Public Policy

The dual degree of the Master of Development Economics and Master of Economics and Public Policy offers students the opportunity to combine a deep understanding of economic development theory with a thorough understanding of how government policy is developed and rolled out. This allows students to be fully equipped for a career in central government economic development. Students will study a program with a strong emphasis on quantitative techniques in econometrics, benefit/cost analysis and operations research (MDevEcon), alongside an economics-centred, multidisciplinary program (MEconPP). A range of electives are available, allowing study in fields such as health, environment, innovation and competition policy, international economics and politics and quantitative techniques for project appraisals. This dual program will allow students to complete the requirements for two Masters degrees over a two year study period, rather than three years, if the programs were taken separately.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation is a 1.5 year degree for students seeking to improve their understanding of entrepreneurship and innovation in modern business, thereby improving business productivity, economic growth and global competitiveness. The program will provide students with the skills to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship within their organisation, be it a corporation, a start-up, a research organisation or in the public sector. International Relations/Peace and Conflict Studies

The Master of International Relations (MIR) is a coursework program aimed at developing conceptual and empirical understanding and skill sets in research and knowledge in the IR field. The MIR builds on a core set of four courses covering the main elements of IR. Students will also be able to focus on a range of elective options covering fields such as IR of the Asian Pacific, Law and International Politics, Security and Statecraft, and Globalisation and Development. A research dissertation option is also available. The Master in Peace and Conflict Studies (MPaCS) is a coursework program aimed at developing conceptual and empirical understanding and skill sets in research and knowledge development in the field of peace and conflict. Students will gain an advanced understanding of how conflicts emerge and how they can be managed and solved in a nonviolent manner. Topics covered span from the local to the global and include issues such as peace-building, conflict resolution and prevention, mediation, nonviolence, gender and security as well as peace and development.

The program aims to provide students with a deeper understanding of energy systems, responsible business practice and ways to address threats of global temperature rise and broader climate change impacts. The MSE is designed to address complex problems across a range of disciplines & equips graduates to progress to leadership and management positions in the sector. As a graduate of the MSE you will understand the complex nature of energy generation,distribution & supply; the crucial roles of finance,technology & regulation for energy project management & business development and the critical importance of social license for assessing the energy landscape. You will develop a deep understanding of risk, innovation & sustainability. You will be working towards creating a better energy future, learning directly from leading academics,researchers & industry representatives. All courses are in week intensive blocks.This program also allows for students who have completed the UQx Sustainable Energy MicroMasters® to receive 8 units of credit.
