Students have the opportunity to select courses in instrumental pedagogy, aural studies and methodology, choral or orchestral conducting and classroom pedagogy. Graduates of the program demonstrate knowledge and application of the principles of music pedagogy - instrumental or aural - in educational and community settings.

Sports Medicine

This program has been created specifically for general practitioners who want to develop or advance their knowledge and skills in sports medicine. The program provides a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to prevention, treatment and management of sports injuries. Students will develop the clinical knowledge, research and practical skills for evidence-based practice in sports medicine. Students will be well placed to treat different types of exercising individuals (e.g. athletes and amateur sports people), and different types of injuries sustained during sporting activities and other physical activity (e.g. muscular injuries and lumbar region injuries). An understanding of the fundamental principles of sports medicine and its applications will serve as an important backdrop within a general practice setting. These programs offer flexible, work-based learning and are delivered entirely online using proven online learning pedagogies (such as hands-on video tutorials) and discussion forums to allow contact with expert staff and other general practitioners. Assessment projects are highly practical and industry relevant and they can also be customised to your own development needs.

Physiotherapy Studies

Educational Studies (16 units)

This program provides advanced professionally oriented studies for practising educators, focusing on the professional development needs and in-service requirements of teachers and administrators. Some pathways offer specific qualifications while others offer significant professional advantage to educators interested in career advancement or broadening career options. Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) are available for Australian citizens, permanent visa holders, and New Zealand citizens for students enrolling in the field of Guidance, Counseling and Careers. Please note that places are limited and allocated on the basis of academic merit. If you are a commencing student and have nominated this field of study in your application, you will be contacted by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in the first weeks of semester, regarding whether you have been successful in gaining a CSP place. If you have not nominated this field, but intend to or you are an existing student wanting to change fields, please contact the Faculty via UQ Answers , then click on "Send us your question" prior to the commencement of semester in order to be considered for a CSP place.

Cyber Security (32 units)

The Master of Cyber Security provides a high level, global perspective on cyber security and information security fundamentals. Students learn about the major cyber security challenges facing the world, and a range of responses including technical, policy, organisational, governance and geo-political. Informed by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology's NICE (National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education) framework, the program brings a multi- and inter-disciplinary perspective to cyber security, with students learning how the broad range of skills and capabilities within the cyber security workforce interact. The program offers four fields of study for students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experience, covering Cyber Defence, Cryptography, Cyber Criminology, and Leadership. Each field of study concludes with a capstone project which flexibly enables students to undertake internships or research projects according to their preference and career aspirations.

Business (24 units)

The Master of Business is for people aspiring to management roles, current managers seeking formal qualifications & those changing career direction. The program will help to further develop your business skills, build specialist knowledge within your chosen area & accelerate your career. The MBus offers two entry points depending on your previous studies. The Master (1.5 years) is designed for graduates with a Bachelor's degree in the same discipline. The Master (2 years) includes the core fundamentals of general management for graduates with a Bachelor's degree from any discipline. Both Masters provide an opportunity to specialise in two fields or additional research electives. You can specialise in advertising, HR management, information systems, innovation & entrepreneurship, international business, leadership, marketing, social impact & sustainability or supply chain management. This program does not presume prior knowledge or training in any of the available fields of study. Students who have studied in a cognate area should carefully consider how each field extends their specialist expertise & supports their future career plan.
