Master of Advanced Clinical Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal)

This Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia-accredited master degree is for qualified physiotherapists who want to gain advanced clinical skills and knowledge in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. You will develop advanced competencies in musculoskeletal physiotherapy through student-centred, critical, reflective engagement with contemporary theory and supervision by clinical experts in practical and clinical sessions. Graduates from our program work in clinical practice, advanced practice roles in settings such as screening clinics and emergency departments, and academia. What you'll need Students who undertake activities where interaction with patients/the public is required for their degree, such as field or clinical placements/visits and in University clinics and gyms, must demonstrate they meet mandatory pre-placement conditional requirements. These include criminal history clearance, a Working with Children Check and immunisation requirements. Master of Applied Project Management (Contract Management)

Contracts are at the centre of construction, government and engineering works. Within these sectors there has been a significant shift towards outsourcing and sub-contracting. In this environment there is an ever increasing emphasis on understanding, negotiating and administering contracts to deliver the best possible result for all stakeholders. This unique program will equip you with the skills and knowledge, not only to manage projects effectively, but also to manage contracts within the context of the Australian legal framework. This specialisation is a blend of project management, business and law courses that will help you form a body of knowledge in both project and contract management. Courses introduce core and advanced concepts which continually reference current industry operations to prepare you for contract roles in the workplace. According to the Project Management Institute (PMI), 15.7 million new project management jobs will be available by 2020 in project-intensive industries, including manufacturing, business services, finance and insurance, oil and gas, information services, construction, and utilities. This degree uses A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK® Guide) and other international standards as a framework. It is the international industry-standard approach to project management that can be applied across different industries, businesses and government institutions. You will graduate with the skills and knowledge to apply both project and contract management methodology to specific professional field(s) of expertise and work in interdisciplinary project teams. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to network, exchange ideas and share experiences with practicing project managers as well as other professionals. This postgraduate degree is offered as part of a suite of four programs (graduate certificate, graduate diploma, a 1 ½ year and 2 year master). Each qualification extends to the next, so you can easily transition to a master level qualification. At master level, you may choose to complete an additional six months of study to expand your academic knowledge and explore an area of interest within the project management field. If you decide to exit this degree having completed the first four courses, you will receive the Graduate Certificate in Project Management. If you have completed the first eight courses, you will receive the Graduate Diploma in Project Management (Contract Management). In addition to our campus offerings, we have launched a highly specialised online Master of Applied Project Management (Defence Industries) via OUA. This qualification is tailor made for defence contractors and defence organisations and provides specialised knowledge and skills to meet the new demands of this industry.

If you are a medical radiation or other allied health professional and want to broaden your career prospects, this graduate diploma may be for you. General sonographers require highly developed technical skills and a strong understanding of physics, anatomy and pathology for the examination of body parts such as internal organs, blood vessels, musculoskeletal systems, reproductive organs and pregnancies. In just two years of part-time study you will extend your knowledge, practical skills and understanding of this specialised area. Practical learning is a major focus, with students embarking on 2,200 hours of ultrasound training and associated clinical placements. This graduate diploma is only offered online, with attendance at an on-campus final clinical assessment required. It can only be studied part-time over a minimum of two years. Completion provides credit toward the Master of Medical Sonography (General). What you'll need Applicants are responsible for organising their own training position in an ultrasound department in order to complete the required scanning experience.

Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing

The Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing explores psychosocial and behavioural sciences and the legal and ethical aspects of mental health nursing practice. You will gain valuable practical experience with an industry placement, preparing you to provide mental health care in a variety of health care settings. This qualification is offered online, with attendance required at some on-campus workshops. Due to a limited number of placements, applicants are requested to include a Statement of Employment, National Police Clearance and DHS Working with Children Check with their application through SATAC. What you'll need Students who undertake activities where interaction with patients/the public is required for their degree, such as field or clinical placements/visits and in University clinics and gyms, must demonstrate they meet mandatory pre-placement conditional requirements. These include criminal history clearance, a Working with Children Check and immunisation requirements. Due to the limited number of placements, applicants are requested to supply these documents along with a Statement of Employment to SATAC when applying.
