Master of Medical Sonography (General)

Practical learning is a major focus, with students embarking on 2,200 hours of ultrasound training and associated clinical placements. This degree in only offered online, with attendance at an on-campus final clinical assessment. It can only be studied part-time, over a minimum of three years. Master of Physiotherapy (Graduate Entry)

This Master’s degree enables students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a health-related area to meet the registration requirements to practice as a physiotherapist with just two years of extra study. Your studies will develop your capability to assess, treat and prevent human movement disorders, enabling people to lead healthy and functional lives. Throughout your studies you will undertake supervised clinical practice with patients within a vast range of industry organisations. Some of your placements will also take place in our very own state-of-the-art Physiotherapy Clinics, located on-campus. This practical experience is a great way for you to apply what you have learnt during your studies and encourages you to build industry networks and relationships. What you'll need Students who undertake activities where interaction with patients/the public is required for their degree, such as field or clinical placements/visits and in University clinics and gyms, must demonstrate they meet mandatory pre-placement conditional requirements. These include criminal history clearance, child related employment clearance and immunisation requirements. Please visit the Clinical Placement Unit for information on key requirements, and to access the full student checklists. Students must also be registered to practice physiotherapy in Australia. Applicants who are overseas trained physiotherapists and are eligible to apply for Australian registration with the Australian Physiotherapy Council are not eligible to apply for this degree. All students enrolled in a program leading to professional registration must be registered with the relevant National Board. The registration process is undertaken by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with the University providing notification to AHPRA following enrolment in the program.

Master of Project Management

Project management is recognised as a highly valued discipline in its own right. Organisations have come to rely on specialist project managers, with excellent practical skills and theoretical knowledge, to plan and deliver projects on time, within budget and to specifications. This degree uses A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK® Guide) as a framework. It is the international industry-standard approach to project management that can be applied across different industries, businesses and government institutions. You will graduate with the skills and knowledge to apply project management methodology to specific professional field(s) of expertise; work in interdisciplinary project teams; and assume the role of project manager from inception to commissioning. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to network, exchange ideas and share experiences with practising project managers as well as other professionals. As part of this degree you will do a major integrated research project which could focus on a real issue in your workplace. This postgraduate degree is offered as part of a suite of four programs (graduate certificate, graduate diploma, a 1 ½ year and 2 year master). Each qualification extends to the next, so you can easily transition to a master level qualification. At master level, you may choose to complete an additional six months of study to expand your academic knowledge and explore an area of interest within the project management field. If you decide to exit this degree having completed the first four courses, you will receive the Graduate Certificate in Project Management. If you have completed the first eight courses, you will receive the Graduate Diploma in Project Management. If you have completed a degree or post graduate study in project management or a related area, you may be eligible for Advanced Standing. Depending on your qualification, you could complete your master in either one or 1.5 years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) study.

With a strong focus on practical skills, you will complete more than 1,000 hours of field placements in settings such as community agencies, kindergartens and aged care facilities, providing valuable hands-on experience that will enable a seamless transition from study to the workforce.
