Learn the strategies and techniques to prevent disease and promote health on a global scale. This course will develop you into a leader who can drive innovation behind public health and solve complex issues on an international scale.

The course highlights three distinct streams; all of which address the challenges and issues faced by mainstream teachers in 21st Century educational practice: Autism stream – provides educators with advanced knowledge and skills in supporting individuals with Autism. Mental Health stream – provides educators with advanced knowledge and skills in supporting individuals with Mental Health challenges, in particular, the three most prominent issues facing contemporary educators, Anxiety, Depression and Eating Disorders. Learning stream – provides educators with advanced knowledge and skills in supporting individuals with a range of learning needs. N.B. This is not an accredited Australian Initial Teacher Education course and therefore does not qualify the student to teach in Australia.

Students will be trained in skills such as planning, implementation and evaluation of public health programs, health promotion and disease prevention strategies, advocacy, leadership and management, statistics and epidemiology and analytical and communication skills. In the Capstone project, students will have the opportunity to explore a public health issue of their choice through a 6-month research project.

This course will provide you with a unique opportunity to undertake and publish reflective research where you pursue ways to improve your practice and to share your findings with the professional community. When following this online teaching course, you will also be given an option to attend three ‘touch-point’ weekends per year (one per trimester) in either Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. The skills you will learn in this course are in demand in a wide variety of fields including IT, construction, manufacturing, healthcare, natural resources, education, commerce, and research and development. Additionally, you to enter or exit with a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Global Project Management.
