The Master of Cybersecurity equips you with the knowledge and skills required to develop and maintain complex computing systems using cutting-edge technology and methods. In this course, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge required to identify, demonstrate, diagnose and fix flaws and threats in software systems. You’ll learn about system security, penetration testing, incident response, security management, reverse engineering and ethical hacking. Upon graduation, you’ll have the confidence and ability to pursue a career in cybersecurity testing, incident response, auditing and malware analysis.

This program is only available in Singapore. A comparable and equivalent program for Australian domestic students residing in Melbourne is the Master of Counselling (MA-COU). The course is available part-time in full-time and part-time formats. Swinburne University of Technology offers the Graduate Certificate of Counselling and the Graduate Diploma of Counselling as a pathway to the Master of Counselling (Advanced). The three programs constitute an accredited nested suite of courses with different exit points. The Master of Counselling (Advanced) refines skills in the area of professional counselling. The course is designed to advance counselling and research skills of people currently employed or interested in employment in one of the human services sectors (i.e. education, mental health, health, community, justice and welfare sectors). Graduates of the program would be eligible to register as professional counsellors in Singapore.

The Master of Counselling provides students with a range of counselling skills that can be applied across work settings, client types and cultural groups. Students specialise in human services counselling, couple counselling or forensic counselling. The course is designed to meet the needs of those employed in the human services sector (such as mental health, general health care, education, law and mediation, justice and welfare, and public service fields) or those who have an interest in the specialist fields of couple counselling or forensic counselling. Each stream includes placements in industry. Placements are tailored specifically to students’ level of experience, interests and availability.

The Master of Corporate Governance provides a comprehensive view of the system of checks and balances that exist to ensure corporate actors including directors and executive officers exercise their powers legitimately and responsibly. It offers insights for all stakeholders in the management of organisations – including, but not limited to, corporations. Corporate governance is a dynamic discipline that interacts with the social, digital and business model landscape in which it is placed. Innovation and technology impact best practices in corporate governance. Our unique placement within the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship at Swinburne, coupled with insights from our industry partners, ensures that this degree is practical, current and pro-actively focused. You will acquire skills in all aspects of corporate governance including leadership; the legal obligations of company officers and directors; accounting fundamentals, risk decision-making; and management, strategy and corporate culture. You will also have the opportunity to undertake governance projects in both profit and non-profit organisational contexts.

The Master of Construction Management aims to prepare students for roles managing people, equipment, materials, built environment and assets, as well as roles overseeing technological processes and with managerial aspects related to the design, construction and maintenance of buildings and civil infrastructure. It provides a structured study of advanced management theories, techniques and practices in the planning and management of building and infrastructure projects. Students gain significant knowledge and skills in procurement and project delivery, resource planning and management, project costing, health and safety, and risk management. They also learn about the environmental, financial, legal and contractual considerations associated with project-based industries.

The Master of Construction and Infrastructure Management aims to prepare graduates for future roles in managing people, equipment, materials, technological processes and funds in the construction, management and maintenance of buildings and assets in the civil infrastructure. This aim is facilitated by the study of advanced management and engineering techniques in the fields of construction, building and maintenance. Students gain significant knowledge and skills in procurement and project delivery, resource planning and management, project costing, health and safety, and risk management. They also learn about the environmental, financial, legal and contractual considerations associated with project-based industries.

The Master of Corporate Governance (Advanced) offers business leaders the chance to master the art of board management in a range of businesses and organisations, as well as lead cutting-edge research in the field. As the role of the company director becomes increasingly important, and documented, you’ll develop a broad range of skills preparing you to succeed in directing boards, and contribute to the field as an established professional. Included in the range of skills students will acquire are leadership and behaviour training, accounting fundamentals, risk and decision making theory, and the chance to undertake a piece of independent research – making an original contribution to research in the area of corporate governance and business.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) provides opportunities for students to develop their capability to engage and deal with uncertainty, change and turbulence in the environments in which their organisation operates. By studying an MBA, students develop skills in strategy, leadership, innovation, and ethical and social responsibility. The degree combined entrepreneurial thinking with leadership skills to prepare students to become skilled managers and leaders.

The Master of Business Information Systems has been designed to provide students with an understanding of the use and management of information systems in organisations. The course offers students the knowledge and skills required to work as an analyst in this field. Students learn about the underpinnings of information systems, including studies in business analysis, IT project management and enterprise information management, requirements analysis, database design and professional issues. They also learn how to approach organisational problems from a broader, interdisciplinary perspective, and address information systems risk management, enterprise architecture, and information systems strategy and governance. Students select a specialisation from business analysis, IT project management or enterprise information management, and may broaden their study by undertaking elective units. Students complete a research project, enabling them to build an area of expertise.

This Master of Business Administration (Executive) (Advanced) invites leaders in business to take a research-led approach to areas such as change, strategic thinking, innovation, entrepreneurship, finance, ethical practice and social responsibility. Focusing on scenarios and solutions, you’ll forge ahead with research – preparing you to start new ventures in business, or lead organisational change. On course completion, students will have the opportunity to focus on a particular area of business study, or prepare for a PhD in the field.
