The Master of Professional Accounting/Master of Business Administration is a Coursework combined program and is designed for students with a degree in a field other than Accounting who wish to obtain a sound introduction to accounting and business concepts and procedures. The program encompasses study in finance, general management, taxation law and auditing, marketing, human resources management, International business, E-business and entrepreneurship.The Master of Business Administration provides students with a range of analytic, strategic and leadership skills which will prepare them for increasingly competitive careers in business management in the corporate and public sectors. The program offers a grounding in fundamental business areas such as organisational behaviour, leadership, marketing and management. Analytic and problem solving skills are emphasised through an applied understanding of the theoretical framework within which today’s managers must operate, as well as the acquisition of practical skills in teamwork, writing, presentation and time-management. The ability to cope with rapid organisational and technological change is developed through an understanding of organisational behaviour, information systems and organisational change and development.

The program provides a sound knowledge in the core business areas of marketing, finance, economics and human resource management and expends on this knowledge in the context of international trade, government policy and regulations with regards to global business operations.

Students will gain core financial management skills, an understanding of Australian and international financial markets, knowledge of derivative assets and markets, analytical skills for interpreting and analysis developments in finance practice, and applied knowledge of various specialised aspects of the finance industry.

The Master of Professional Engineering (Mechanical) program extends upon prior undergraduate qualifications in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering. In a 2-year program, the MPE provides advanced fundamental skills and knowledge required for the practicing mechanical engineer. The first year predominantly focuses on core knowledge and skills, while the second year provides the opportunity for specialisation through the completion of a significant capstone Masters Thesis Project and a coherent suite of elective courses. This program produces graduates with the knowledge, technical abilities and professional qualities to provide innovative solutions to society’s needs now and into the future.

The Master of Professional Engineering (Chemical) program will extend students’ learning in the discipline of chemical engineering. For students completing the 2 year MPE, the first year focuses on advanced fundamental skills and knowledge required for the practicing chemical engineer. Following this, and in conjunction with students completing the 1 year MPE, students are exposed to capstone level courses in energy and resources engineering while also completing an advanced level research program. This program produces graduates with the knowledge, and technical and professional attributes to provide innovative solutions to society’s needs now and into the future.

The Master of Professional Engineering (Civil) program offers the opportunity for students to broaden their technical competence either in another discipline (such as disaster management, business, sustainability, construction management, safety and risk), or to deepen their competence in the program discipline. It may also be used to strengthen a student's technical capacity based on any gaps in their prior knowledge and to expose students to Australian design, construction and management practices.
